'Weak Hero Class 2' successfully held the 'Weak Hero Homecoming GV'.

The Netflix series 'Weak Hero Class 2', which depicts the desperate survival story and brilliant growth of model student Yeon Si-eun, who transferred to Eunjanggo with the trauma of not being able to protect a friend despite standing up to violence for them, concluded the 'Weak Hero Homecoming GV' with great enthusiasm on the 1st.

The 'Weak Hero Homecoming GV' was meaningful as it brought together 11 actors who shone in Class 1 and Class 2, including Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook, Hong Kyung, Shin Seung-ho, Lee Yeon, Ryu Un, Choi Min-young, Lee Joon-young, Yoo Soo-bin, Bae Na-ra, and Lee Min-jae, along with director Yoo Soo-min and planning director Han Joon-hee. The atmosphere was hotter than ever with everyone gathered in one place, and it was broadcast live online to the world.

Planning director Han Joon-hee expressed gratitude, saying, “It has been four years since we started the 'Weak Hero' series, and I am thankful that many people have shown affection for it.” He added, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and actors who worked hard together.” Director Yoo Soo-min, who was in charge of the script and direction, said, “I will live with a grateful heart for a long time. I want to express my gratitude to the staff and actors of Class 1 and Class 2 who worked hard together, and to the many people who made efforts until the end.”

The Class 1 actors who became 'salvation' for Yeon Si-eun (Park Ji-hoon) to break out of her hard shell celebrated the success of the series together. Park Ji-hoon said, “Class 1 friends are like first loves,” adding, “The fact that I unconsciously look for my friends means that they are deep and precious to me. I watched Class 1 again and thought about how long it would be until I could work with these people again, which left a lasting impression. It was a grateful work.”

Choi Hyun-wook, who played Ahn Soo-ho, said, “In school days, there are many cases where one moves forward without knowing their feelings, but Soo-ho moved forward more in his relationships with friends.” He added, “Soo-ho learned a lot in that process, and I also learned a lot and grew. I am grateful.”

Hong Kyung, who played Oh Beom-seok, said, “Watching again this time, I was once again amazed by the performances of Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook, Shin Seung-ho, and Lee Yeon,” and expressed gratitude for being able to meet such actors. He said, “We still get along well, and I think it’s rare to meet such colleagues.”

Shin Seung-ho, who played Jeon Seok-dae, said, “‘Weak Hero’ is a brilliant memory and at the same time a poignant work,” adding, “Just looking into Si-eun’s eyes makes me tear up; it’s warm yet somehow cold.” Lee Yeon, who played Young-yi, also expressed deep affection, saying, “They say love is the highest stage of friendship,” and added, “‘Weak Hero’ was love.”

What kind of life are Young-yi and Jeon Seok-dae, who have a special relationship, living? Lee Yeon said, “I hope the viewers think about Young-yi’s current life in their own way,” adding, “Whether she is living well or her life is falling apart, I hope there is one thing that happens. I hope there is a moment when Seok-dae comes out on the day he is released, and Young-yi goes out to wake up to the world again.” Shin Seung-ho expressed hope, saying, “If Seok-dae is released and Young-yi is in front of him, I think it would be moving. However, knowing Seok-dae’s personality, he might not show it, but I think he would gain the courage to live strongly because of Young-yi.”

In just three days after its release, 'Weak Hero Class 2' achieved the remarkable feat of reaching number one in the Netflix Global TOP 10 Series (Non-English) category, and a talk with the actors followed. Director Yoo Soo-min said, “Class 1 and Class 2 aimed to connect as one story,” adding, “Si-eun has changed, but the constant is that we want to convey the story through Si-eun, which I think is the unity of the series. Class 1 is a work that consumes a lot of emotions, while Class 2 aimed to emphasize a genre that can be approached a bit more lightly.”

Ryu Un, who played Park Hu-min, said, “Baku is a character who likes his friends and is a good person,” adding, “He matures more through the transition, and I tried to capture the character by having many conversations with director Yoo Soo-min.” Choi Min-young, who played Seo Joon-tae, explained, “All the characters are strong and good at fighting, but I am the only character who can’t fight,” adding, “Even if I can’t fight, I wanted to embody Joon-tae’s stubbornness and strong yet pure side.”

Behind the rooftop duel scene between Yeon Si-eun and Geum Seong-jae was also revealed. Park Ji-hoon said, “The moment I saw Lee Joon-young, he really looked like Geum Seong-jae,” adding, “I thought about how he could smile like that and whether he found an opponent stronger than himself. I felt that Geum Seong-jae was feeling, ‘I found it! My opponent,’ and I think it was an energy that only he could emit, and I learned a lot from it.”

Lee Joon-young, who played Geum Seong-jae, recalled, “While fighting, Baku's friends appear in order, and Seong-jae must have felt very lonely. It was a fun day for Seong-jae after a long time, and although my body became exhausted, I thought, ‘Today is that day’ as I was able to act passionately.”

Yoo Soo-bin, who played Choi Hyo-man, said, “After not being able to join the alliance, Hyo-man, who lost all vitality, must have found energy in helping Baku’s group,” adding, “For someone who wants to leave a mark on a big event, he must have joined with the mindset that he can’t miss out on this. Even though Si-eun asked him to join, I think he would have gone even if she hadn’t asked.”

Bae Na-ra, who played Na Baek-jin, the pinnacle of the alliance, said, “I thought of Baku as the only friend who could fully understand me while acting,” adding, “I tried to focus on the unwavering Na Baek-jin, and the more I did, the more I felt that Na Baek-jin’s distance from Baku would resonate greatly.” Ryu Un added, “Baku wanted to support Baek-jin even if he went astray because he is a friend, and he must have felt guilty thinking that if he hadn’t taught Baek-jin how to fight, this wouldn’t have happened,” explaining the interesting relationship between Park Hu-min and Na Baek-jin.

Lee Min-jae, who played Go Hyun-tak, who showcased intense kicks and flashy action, said, “I worked hard to learn even the moves that I couldn’t do at the action school to make them my own,” adding, “I wanted to do my best and work hard because I was with excellent actors and production staff.”

Park Ji-hoon, who played Yeon Si-eun from Class 1 to Class 2, also had something to say to Yeon Si-eun. He said, “I hope Si-eun can live smiling from now on. Since she has all the friends she wants, I think she will live smiling.”
