‘Try’ PD Jang Young-seok revealed that he felt pressure to continue the lineage of SBS sports dramas.
On the afternoon of the 25th, a production presentation for SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Try: We Become Miracles’ was held in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, with PD Jang Young-seok, Yoon Kye-sang, Lim Se-mi, and Kim Yo-han in attendance.
On this day, PD Jang Young-seok introduced ‘Try’ by saying, “It’s a story about friends from the Hanyang Physical Education High School rugby team, who are on the brink of collapse, challenging for victory together after a troubled rugby player, Joo Ga-ram, becomes their coach.”
When asked if he felt any pressure since it’s been a while since SBS released a sports drama following ‘Stove League’ and ‘Racket Boys’, PD Jang Young-seok replied, “I also enjoyed watching those dramas, so I felt the pressure to continue that legacy.”
He added, “Since rugby is a contact sport, I hoped to show the excitement and raw enjoyment it brings, and I created it with that expectation and goal in mind.”
Meanwhile, ‘Try: We Become Miracles’ is a comedic coming-of-age sports drama about the quirky director Joo Ga-ram and the perennial underdogs of the Hanyang Physical Education High School rugby team racing towards victory in the national sports festival. It will premiere on the 25th at 9:50 PM.
