Lee Jong-suk, Moon Ga-young, Kang Yoo-seok, Ryu Hye-young, and Lim Sung-jae showcase an exceptional teamwork that dominates the Seocho-dong legal town.
The new tvN weekend drama 'Seocho-dong' (written by Lee Seung-hyun / directed by Park Seung-woo / planned by CJ ENM Studios / produced by Green Snake Media), which will premiere on the 5th, depicts the growth journey of five associate lawyers (lawyers employed by law firms and paid a salary) who commute to the Seocho-dong legal town every day.
The drama features popular actors loved across generations, including Lee Jong-suk (as Ahn Joo-hyung), Moon Ga-young (as Kang Hee-ji), Kang Yoo-seok (as Jo Chang-won), Ryu Hye-young (as Bae Moon-jung), and Lim Sung-jae (as Ha Sang-ki), raising high expectations. In this context, the actors portraying the five associate lawyers expressed their strong friendship and shared their thoughts on their acting chemistry.
First, Lee Jong-suk stated, “'Seocho-dong' is a work that made me appreciate the collaboration,” adding, “During the filming, I thought the strength of our drama was also the actors. It was a filming set where we could discuss characters, emotional lines, and scenes, and learn a lot by asking questions about what we didn’t know.”
Next, Moon Ga-young expressed her pride, saying, “Even during breaks, we constantly practiced the tempo of scenes and lines, and eventually, we got to know each other without even speaking.” She particularly noted, “Just as Hee-ji meets reliable friends in Seocho-dong, I am also happy and relieved to have lovely older brothers and sisters through 'Seocho-dong'.”
Kang Yoo-seok also shared, “At the beginning of the filming, it was a bit awkward, but once we got close, we exchanged a lot of ad-libs and spent our breaks together discussing the script. We shared various concerns both in terms of the work and personally, and received a lot of advice as life seniors, which made our chemistry undeniable.”
As the synergy among the five is crucial, Ryu Hye-young mentioned that they made significant efforts to bond during the early filming. “Thanks to our shared mindset, we were able to capture the good relationships and chemistry of the actors in the scenes where all five of us are together. During the work on 'Seocho-dong', we kept the script close and had many discussions to create good scenes both on set and in private,” she revealed the secret to their teamwork.
Lim Sung-jae added, “Usually, during waiting times, we prepare for the next scene in our own spaces, but it was the first time we gathered to discuss or talk even when it wasn’t our scene, like in 'Seocho-dong'. No matter how close we are, suggesting different acting methods can be a sensitive issue, but perhaps because we trust each other deeply, we often actively proposed and discussed ideas,” hinting at the cheerful atmosphere on set.
'Seocho-dong' will premiere on the 5th at 9:20 PM on tvN.
