The history of Jerusalem is covered in 'Naked World History'.
In the tvN entertainment program 'Naked World History' airing on the 3rd, the sacred city of Jerusalem for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam will be explored.
To this end, Professor Sung Il-kwang from the Euro-Mena Research Institute at Sogang University will be the lecturer. Professor Sung, an expert in Middle Eastern studies who has researched at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv University, will unveil the reasons why the city of Jerusalem, blessed by God, became a city of conflict.
Professor Sung introduces, "Jerusalem is a holy city for the three major religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—believed by more than half of the world's population." He adds that although Jerusalem means 'the city of peace', it has been embroiled in brutal wars for thousands of years due to entangled religious, ethnic, and territorial disputes, piquing curiosity.
The cast was astonished by the background of how all three religions came to revere Jerusalem as a holy site and the fierce battles fought to claim the holy land, which became the seeds of conflict. The history of Jerusalem, written in blood through countless changes of ownership, wars, riots, and massacres, can be confirmed in today's broadcast.
Meanwhile, today's travel mates are Kang Kyun-seong from the group Noel and reporter Noh Seok-jo from the Chosun Ilbo. Kang Kyun-seong, who has visited Jerusalem for a pilgrimage, and Noh Seok-jo, who has worked as a Middle East specialist for 16 years, are said to have added value by sharing knowledge about the religious significance of Jerusalem and the conflicts between religions and nations surrounding it. The broadcast is scheduled for 10:10 PM today.
