The KBS drama filming team, which hammered nails into the UNESCO World Heritage site Byeongsan Seowon, has been granted a suspension of prosecution by the prosecution.

On the 2nd, the Daegu District Prosecutor's Office Andong Branch announced that it has decided to suspend prosecution against three members of the KBS drama filming team who were reported for violating laws regarding the preservation and utilization of cultural heritage.

Suspension of prosecution means that the facts of the crime are acknowledged, but the prosecutor decides not to refer the case to trial considering the circumstances and results of the crime.

Previously, the filming team of the KBS drama 'The Male Lead's First Night' faced criticism for damaging the structure by hammering nails into the pillars for prop installation while filming at Byeongsan Seowon, which is designated as Historic Site No. 260 of South Korea and registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

In response, KBS issued two apologies and promised to prevent recurrence. They also decided to discard all footage from the filming.
