Takeru Satoh, the lead actor in the Japanese version of 'Marry My Husband', revealed that he often watches Korean dramas.
On the 26th, a production presentation for the Japanese version of 'Marry My Husband' was held at the Ramada Hotel in Sindorim, Seoul. Studio Dragon's producer Son Ja-young, actress Koshiba Fuka, and Takeru Satoh attended the event.
Takeru Satoh stated, "I often watch Korean dramas at home. I thought Director Ahn Gil-ho's works were excellent, and I was happy to work together this time. I was able to learn a lot on set. It was a great experience," expressing his desire to work with Director Ahn again.
When asked if he had watched the Korean version of 'Marry My Husband', he replied, "I had seen it. When I first met the director, I said I hoped he hadn't seen it, but I had already watched it, so I honestly said I had seen it all."
He added, "I enjoyed watching the Korean version, so I thought about how to make the Japanese version better by expanding on the strengths of the Korean version. During the script meetings for the Japanese version, we discussed how to develop it in a good direction together."
Based on the popular web novel of the same name, 'Marry My Husband' is planned and produced by Studio Dragon and will be aired on tvN in 2024. The story follows a woman who witnesses her best friend and husband’s affair and is murdered, providing thrilling catharsis through her return and revenge, gaining popularity.
The Japanese version is not a remake of the Korean drama but a drama adapted from the web novel into a Japanese version. CJ ENM JAPAN and Studio Dragon are in charge of planning, with Jiyuro Pictures, which produced the film 'The Girl We Liked Back Then', and the Japanese production company Shochiku participating in the production. It will be released for the first time on Amazon Prime Video at midnight on the 27th.
