Go Woo-rim from the group Forestella revealed his love story with his wife Kim Yuna.
On the 18th, MBC’s ‘Radio Star’ featured guests Kim Tae-kyun, Cheon Rok-dam, Lee Dae-hyung, and Go Woo-rim.
On that day, Go Woo-rim shared that he first met Kim Yuna during a congratulatory performance at Kim Yuna's ice show in 2018. After the ice show, Kim Yuna came to the waiting room to receive a signed CD from Forestella. Go Woo-rim said, “At that time, I never thought, ‘I want to date this person.’ I felt something special, but I thought there wouldn’t be a next meeting.”
However, Kim Yuna sent a thank-you message to Forestella's leader Jo Min-kyu regarding the congratulatory performance, and before meeting Go Woo-rim, the two had a meal together. Go Woo-rim explained, “The day they had dinner was my birthday. So, I received a birthday message from Kim Yuna. After that, I invited her to our performance. As the three of us watched, Jo Min-kyu gradually dropped out, and it became just the two of us.” Go Woo-rim revealed that he had a secret relationship with Kim Yuna for four years.
When Kim Gu-ra asked, “Was there a reason you decided to get married?” Go Woo-rim replied, “I felt a sense of stability from the moment we started communicating. Suddenly, I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be okay to marry someone like this?’”
Go Woo-rim mentioned that he had marriage in mind even before dating, saying, “I confessed when I was 24 years old. In a way, I was too young and hadn’t even gone to the military yet. I had been thinking about marriage even before dating, but I was worried that if I confessed wanting to date with marriage in mind, it wouldn’t be taken seriously. But Kim Yuna said, ‘We’ll be together for life, so go to the military. I can wait,’ which I was grateful for.”
Go Woo-rim also talked about the proposal. He said, “I thought if I rented a space for the proposal, she would feel burdened, so I did it in the car. But as time passed, it felt like we were getting married, so I did it again before the wedding. Kim Yuna has a gathering like a stepmother's meeting, and I made a surprise appearance to propose there.”
