Gahi, a former member of the group After School, revealed that she experienced domestic violence during her childhood.

On the 16th, Gahi appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel ‘Newly Reformed CBS’ and shed tears while sharing stories from her childhood.

Gahi stated that her mother developed a herniated disc while giving birth to her, and she was entrusted to her maternal grandparents right after birth. She recalled, “When I returned home at the age of 3, I saw my mom and asked, ‘Who is this lady?’ There was that little interaction with her.”

She continued, “My father was tall, handsome, and even graduated from graduate school, but he was very patriarchal. On the other hand, my mother was a full-time housewife and always seemed to be subdued. I felt like I was invisible at home. I was always lonely and craved love. It felt like a survival world at home,” she reminisced.

She also confessed to her parents' violent tendencies.

She said, “One day, my mom was beaten by my dad, and there was blood all over the blanket. I remember her quietly washing it in the bathroom,” adding, “I was also hit frequently. There was no tool I hadn’t been hit with, like a stick, a belt, or a hanger. My mom hit me like that,” she cried.

Looking back now, Gahi believes that the situation was likely due to the economic difficulties her father faced after a business failure.

She expressed, “My mom didn’t receive living expenses and was under a lot of mental and financial stress. Now that my dad has passed away, I am very grateful that my mom didn’t divorce and protected us even in such circumstances,” showing her affection.

Meanwhile, Gahi debuted with After School in 2009, married a non-celebrity businessman in 2016, and has two sons.
