Actor Im Sung-jae is set to rise as a new smile angel in ‘Seocho-dong’.
The new tvN weekend drama ‘Seocho-dong’ (written by Lee Seung-hyun / directed by Park Seung-woo / planned by CJ ENM Studios / produced by Chorokbaem Media), which premieres on July 5, depicts the growth journey of five associate lawyers (lawyers employed by law firms and receiving a salary) who commute to the Seocho-dong legal town every day.
In the drama, Im Sung-jae plays Ha Sang-ki, the only associate lawyer among the ‘Law Avengers’ (lawyer + Avengers) who is affiliated with a law office called Hojeon rather than a law firm. Due to his preference for using a blog instead of popular social media, Ha Sang-ki, nicknamed ‘Grandpa’ by Bae Moon-jung (played by Ryu Hye-young), is exhausted from work but receives financial therapy every month with the salary deposited into his account.
In front of clients who pay him, he responds with a world-class kind smile while leading consultations, and on the side, he has started a restaurant blog to receive lunch sponsorships, living the life of a blogger. This raises curiosity about Ha Sang-ki's daily life, where he juggles his main job as a lawyer and his side job as a restaurant blogger, often feeling that 24 hours in a day are not enough.
The released photos capture Ha Sang-ki's daily routine as he seamlessly transitions between his main and side jobs. While he wears the face of a reliable lawyer in the courtroom, he shows the professionalism of a restaurant blogger as he focuses on taking food photos during the delightful lunch hour. It piques curiosity about what dishes might be featured in his blog ‘The Lawyer’s Table’ infused with his dedication.
Along with this, expectations are rising for actor Im Sung-jae's transformation as he showcases a strong charm in the role of Ha Sang-ki. With a wide acting spectrum that traverses between good and evil, he has left a strong impression with each character he has played, and his unique charm to be presented through the character of Ha Sang-ki in ‘Seocho-dong’ is drawing attention.
‘Seocho-dong’ will premiere on July 5 at 9:20 PM on tvN.
