‘The Birth of Workers 2’, which embodies the meaning of regional coexistence, has returned upgraded.
On the morning of the 11th, a pre-recorded video of the online production presentation for KBS1’s ‘The Birth of Workers 2’ was released. PD Lee Won-sik and broadcasters Son Heon-soo, Kim Min-kyung, and Ahn Seong-hoon participated.
‘The Birth of Workers 2’ is a South Korean coexistence project entertainment show that has returned with a more upgraded appearance, featuring national workers who have been solving complaints across the country for the past three years.
Youth leader Son Heon-soo, energetic comedian Kim Min-kyung, and the straightforward charm of trot singer Ahn Seong-hoon have come together to find workplaces in need of labor, such as factories, businesses, and local governments. In Season 2, the scale and target of complaints will be expanded to capture authentic challenges and solutions in various fields.
Under the slogan “Wherever you call, we will go!” they will go beyond simple labor experiences and be fully engaged in the field to convey their sincerity as true ‘national workers’.
PD Lee Won-sik stated, “In Season 1, we focused on helping a single village with labor shortages in rural areas, but in Season 2, we will broaden our scope to address rural complaints while also assisting local companies and governments. We will embody the meaning of regional coexistence.”
He continued, “There is a sense of fulfillment that can be felt here. We visit villages we don’t usually go to, and when we help with work, the reactions we see from the people make us realize this is real. In fact, we still receive calls asking why we aren’t doing it again, and we were able to return thanks to the viewers who waited.”
Son Heon-soo, who is returning for Season 2 following Season 1, said, “While Season 1 focused on work, now the locations are changing. We will go to factories, businesses, and local government complaints. We will delve deeper and wider than in Season 1.”
When asked about memorable complaints, he explained, “Our reason for existence is to do what elderly people living alone cannot do. There was an elderly person whose three children had passed away, and they couldn’t ask anyone for help. When we assisted them, I felt this is our reason for being. I feel fulfilled when we help like that.”
He added, “There are many elderly people like that across the country. There are times when we wonder if we can really do it, but when we succeed with just our will and effort, and when mothers cry and thank us, that’s when I feel our reason for existence. I think this is unique to South Korea.”
Ahn Seong-hoon introduced himself as “A singer who wants to be a perfect fit” and said, “I really wanted to appear on ‘The Birth of Workers’, but I didn’t get an offer. In Season 2, I received a fixed proposal, and since I have received a lot of love, I wanted to give back by participating.” He added, “After recording, I realized that we work hard and struggle, but the production team also works really hard. Whether it rains, snows, or the sun shines brightly, everyone works hard.”
He praised Kim Min-kyung, saying, “Sister Kim Min-kyung really connects well with the elderly,” to which Kim Min-kyung responded, “I feel so happy when I see the mothers smile.”
Continuing, Kim Min-kyung referred to herself as a “strong worker” and said, “People around me ask why such a good program disappeared, and they say it needs to come back. I wanted to feel the happiness of being helpful to someone. I wanted to do this kind of program, but after a few episodes, I sometimes wonder why I did it.”
Kim Min-kyung confessed, “It’s not just about watching. The reality is that many people work hard. It’s not just us; many need to help to create this program. We struggle, but there are people who join in good deeds, and with that warm heart, we endure and work joyfully. I’ve done many difficult programs, but this is really not an ordinary task.”
She also stated, “We can’t do it without Son Heon-soo,” and added, “As the three of us work together, the chemistry is good, and there’s a sense of reliance. I feel that our hearts are one,” showcasing the warm chemistry of ‘The Birth of Workers’ team and raising expectations.
