Actor Park Bo-gum revealed that he sustained an injury during filming.

On the 29th, the press conference for JTBC's weekend drama ‘Good Boy’ was held at The Link Seoul Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul. Attendees included Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, Oh Jung-se, Lee Sang-yi, Heo Sung-tae, Tae Won-seok, and director Shim Na-yeon.

‘Good Boy’ depicts a comedic action youth investigation drama about medalists who become police officers through special recruitment, fighting against a world filled with dishonesty and rule-breaking while wearing police badges instead of medals.

Park Bo-gum plays the role of Yoon Dong-joo, a police officer from a boxing background in the special investigation team. Yoon Dong-joo, a gold medalist with a record of 15 wins and no losses, became a police officer through special recruitment after a 11-year hiatus.

Park Bo-gum stated, “This was my first challenge after completing my military service, and it was an action I wanted to try at least once. Although it was physically demanding to portray Yoon Dong-joo, I never felt it was hard in my heart. I wanted to do better.”

He added, “I wanted to hear from those who exercise that I looked like a real athlete and that I expressed it well. All the actors and I practiced our action scenes early in the morning. Everyone practiced for over six months.”

He also injured his leg during filming. Park Bo-gum said, “I was too ambitious and ended up with a slight injury. Filming was delayed a bit because of me. All the staff encouraged me to ‘eat well, rest, and take care of myself.’ I made a perfect comeback after a month and a half. After that, I didn’t take a single day off and kept going. I feel very sorry and grateful to everyone.” He expressed his apologies to the staff and fellow actors. He continued, “I think this will remain in my heart for a long time. I hope the drama will showcase delightful and refreshing action.”

Listening to Park Bo-gum, Oh Jung-se joked, “From the villain's perspective, that rest time made him come back stronger, which was uncomfortable.”

‘Good Boy’ will premiere on the 31st at 10:40 PM on JTBC.
