SHINee's Key visited his "hometown of the heart," Gangwon-do, for some healing.
In the episode of MBC's ‘I Live Alone’ aired on the 23rd, Key's journey to Gangwon-do, his "hometown of the heart," was depicted.
On that day, Key caught attention while enjoying a drive under the clear sky. His destination was Gangwon-do. Key said, "Gangwon-do is my hometown of the heart. My real hometown is Daegu, but the memories of my childhood are mostly from Gangwon-do. Even before the highway was opened, I used to visit Gangwon-do with my parents over the Han-gyeong Pass."
Key headed to his favorite restaurant that he has been visiting for 10 years. After greeting the owner, Key continued a friendly conversation.
Key was impressed by the various side dishes that carried the scent of spring. When the main dish, the mushroom chicken soup, was served, he couldn't take his eyes off it. Key said, "If Park Na-rae has her 'brother Myeon,' then I have my 'grandma Baeksuk'."
Regarding his favorite restaurant, Key explained, "The owner treats me like a grandson, making me feel very comfortable. It seems like a place where I can fill my physical hunger and also receive emotional healing."
After enjoying the mushroom chicken soup and nutritious porridge, Key felt regretful that he couldn't eat more due to being full. He asked to pack the remaining mushroom chicken soup and nutritious porridge, then took out a zip bag to pack the side dishes. Jeon Hyun-moo admired, "That's a good idea."
After finishing his meal, Key headed to Hwaam Temple in Goseong. He said, "It's beautiful and comforting, so I visit often." He added, "If I want to see the mountains, I go to Hwaam Temple, and if I want to see the sea, I go to Naksansa."
Key was amazed by the view overlooking Goseong and had an impromptu photo time with people who recognized him. Seeing Key taking friendly photos with people, Park Na-rae commented, "It looks like he's on a trip with them."
Key wanted to light a wish candle for his wishes to come true. After receiving a wish candle with his birth year and name from a staff member, Key asked, "Does it matter that I go to church?" The staff replied, "Church is love, and Buddhism is compassion. The path is one." The Rainbow members couldn't hide their admiration upon hearing this.
Placing the lit wish candle in the center, Key carefully offered his greetings. Seeing Key feeling awkward, Jeon Hyun-moo remarked, "It feels like he's greeting a senior he hasn't seen in a long time." Park Na-rae also empathized, saying, "It feels like a dilemma of whether to greet or not."
