Kwon Seong-jun won again against Edward Lee in a rematch on 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator'.
In the 7th episode of the JTBC entertainment program 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' (directed by Lee Chang-woo and Lee Rin-ha), a cooking competition took place featuring guest Son Seok-koo's refrigerator ingredients, with undefeated chefs Jeong Ho-young and Park Eun-young, and the winner and runner-up of 'Black and White Chef: Cooking Class War', Kwon Seong-jun and Edward Lee.
In this competition, the original chef and the challenger chef faced off with the themes 'We Praise Extremes' and 'Grapper is My Constitution', catering to Son Seok-koo's preference for dishes with contrasting textures and temperatures, featuring perilla leaves as the main ingredient.
In one refrigerator, only one member from each team could use a benefit, and in addition to a 1-minute stop right and starting 1 minute early, a unichef who helps cook for 1 minute was added, heightening the excitement.
'We Praise Extremes' was a match between Jeong Ho-young and Park Eun-young, who had never lost with two star badges. Jeong Ho-young chose to start 1 minute early, while Park Eun-young opted for the 1-minute unichef, burning with enthusiasm solely for victory. However, an unexpected situation caused them to waste their benefits. Jeong Ho-young, who started 1 minute early, tried to make handmade udon dough with a mixer, but it didn't work as he hoped, so he ended up kneading it by hand. Park Eun-young, who requested the strongest unichef, also received little help.
After the tense 15-minute cooking session, Son Seok-koo tasted Jeong Ho-young's 'Susu Susu Udon', which consisted of cold and chewy udon, warm and crispy abalone, cod fillet, and fried cuttlefish, and Park Eun-young's 'Admired Chicken', which featured cold chicken in a warm and crispy somen bowl. He chose Park Eun-young's dish, which shone with creativity.
The rematch between 'Baby Choi Hyun-seok' Kwon Seong-jun and Edward Lee took place with the theme 'Grapper is My Constitution'. Kwon Seong-jun, who prepared 'I Can Feel Your Perilla Leaf Scent in the Shaking Gnocchi', was inspired by Son Seok-koo, a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, to create a sauce that combined Indian curry, Mexican salsa, and Italian ragu, incorporating perilla leaves into the gnocchi dough to hit Son Seok-koo's taste.
Edward Lee presented a unique dish called 'More Beautiful than Heaven Wrap', which involved wrapping somen, steak, and perilla leaf sugar sauce. An Jung-hwan, who tasted the perilla leaf cream sauce made by adding milk to the perilla leaf sugar sauce, which included ingredients used for wrapping, such as olive oil and lemon juice, praised it, saying, "It's amazing," and "It has a deep flavor," further piquing curiosity.
After carefully tasting both dishes, Son Seok-koo raised Kwon Seong-jun's hand. He revealed that the strong perilla leaf scent in the gnocchi played a crucial role in his choice.
Following this, Son Seok-koo mentioned that he wondered if he couldn't sense the perilla leaf scent after eating Edward Lee's dish after Kwon Seong-jun's. Kwon Seong-jun revealed his meticulous strategy, saying, "I was determined to eat this first because if I eat this first, I won't taste anything afterward," surprising everyone.
Upon hearing this, Edward Lee exclaimed, "This is really harder than 'Black and White Chef'," causing everyone to burst into laughter.
