In 'Solo Because', Hwang Jung-eum will publicly reveal her father for the first time on air.
On the 13th, the SBS Plus · E Channel entertainment program 'Solo Because' will show Hwang Jung-eum enjoying a 'filial piety date' with her father who lives in Jeju.
On this day, Hwang Jung-eum waits for her father at Gimpo Airport with her two sons, Wang-sik and Gang-sik. She came to greet her father, who flew up from Jeju. Regarding her father, Hwang Jung-eum said, “He has been the biggest support that has allowed me to continue my difficult life in the entertainment industry. Although my parents divorced when I was young, my father always filled my deficiencies with love. He is the one who taught me the spirit of resilience, saying, ‘Nothing is impossible’,” she expresses affectionately.
After a while, Hwang Jung-eum reunites with her father and the two children, and they have lunch together while chatting. After the meal, Hwang Jung-eum takes her father on a private filial piety date, and the first place they visit is an 'ophthalmology clinic'. Hwang Jung-eum reveals, “My father has been having a lot of discomfort with his eyes lately, so we came for an examination.”
Soon after, meeting with the attending physician, Hwang Jung-eum is shocked to hear that her father has been diagnosed with 'end-stage glaucoma' and is at risk of blindness. As interest grows regarding her father's exact health condition, the two enjoy shopping after the appointment and spend a sweet time on a yacht borrowed through a friend of Hwang Jung-eum.
During this time, Hwang Jung-eum expresses her gratitude, saying, “I think my father's business was struggling when I was young, but he always provided me with the best clothes and education.” She continues, “I was able to endure when I decided to go through my first divorce thanks to my father.”
Her father comforts her, saying, “I believed in you,” and adds, “I’m grateful that my daughter has overcome difficult processes well.” Then, Hwang Jung-eum suddenly asks, “Should I remarry?” raising curiosity about her father's reaction and the realistic advice he might offer.
