Jung Eun-ji has started working out again at Lee Jun-young's ‘24-Hour Health Club’.
In the third episode of the KBS2 Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘24-Hour Health Club’ (directed by Park Jun-soo and Choi Yeon-soo, written by Kim Ji-soo), the fitness enthusiast Do Hyun-jung (played by Lee Jun-young) fought hard to protect his director position and successfully attracted new members.
Lee Mi-ran (played by Jung Eun-ji) showed her worst side to her ex-boyfriend Yeom Jun-seok (played by Jung Wook-jin) and fell into despair. She tried to hold onto her mental state by eating grilled intestines, but ultimately failed against Hyun-jung's cheerful and solid defense. Losing her motivation for exercise, Mi-ran eventually requested a refund and considered giving up on ‘Total Life Care’.
Hyun-jung informed trainers Rosa (played by Lee Mi-do) and Alex (played by Lee Seung-woo) about Mi-ran's refund request. With the gym's management difficulties weighing on her, Rosa decided to directly target the group of skinny members known as ‘Smanpa (Skinny Man Fighting)’ and proposed a deal to Hyun-jung, saying, “Can you promise to step down from your director position and leave the gym if you fail?” Hyun-jung took the gamble, putting his director position on the line and officially entered the member recruitment battle.
However, the situation became more urgent when Hyun-jung's rival Roy (played by Kim Kwon) opened a large gym across from the 24-Hour Health Club. Concerned that even existing members might leave, the three trainers faced the arrival of Smanpa member Kang Cheol-nam (played by Jo Jung-chi), and Hyun-jung began intense training with the slender Cheol-nam, which resonated with viewers.
Mi-ran, who had given up on exercise and was in a state of despair, experienced a change in her body when she managed to stay upright during a sudden stop on a bus using her core strength. Later, when she visited Hyun-jung, her pride led her to register at Roy's gym instead of Hyun-jung's, but she humorously expressed her longing for the intense training style of the fitness enthusiast.
As Hyun-jung continued his all-out effort to attract members, he asked Mi-ran for help for Cheol-nam, who had lost his appetite. Mi-ran introduced various foods such as pig's trotters and grilled clams through her food broadcast list ‘Daedong Mukjido’, and their ‘mukbang class’ stimulated appetites and provided another layer of entertainment. Mi-ran offered warm comfort to Cheol-nam, who felt weak and vulnerable to others, saying, “You were changing your body without even realizing it through exercise.” The transformation of Mi-ran and Cheol-nam, becoming healthier in body, mind, and life through exercise, delivered a touching emotional impact.
Meanwhile, Hyun-jung held onto Mi-ran with a sweet direct line, “Don’t go. Come to me,” and the two began working out together again. At the end of the broadcast, through Cheol-nam's review, the 24-Hour Health Club gained a reputation as a ‘fitness hot spot’, and Hyun-jung succeeded in attracting members, preserving his director position. However, the joy was short-lived as Hyun-jung told Rosa, “You need to leave, teacher,” leading to a tense standoff between them, raising curiosity about what turning point their relationship might face.
The fourth episode of ‘24-Hour Health Club’ will air on the 8th at 9:50 PM.
