Sunwoo Jaedeok and Oh Young-sil shed tears of joy as they grasped the opportunity to turn their lives around.
In the 16th episode of KBS1's daily drama "Seize the Great Fortune" (written by Son Ji-hye, directed by Park Man-young and Lee Hae-woo), the fates of Kim Dae-sik (played by Sunwoo Jaedeok), who suddenly changed his life by winning the lottery, and Han Mu-cheol (played by Son Chang-min), who was buried in debt, sharply diverged.
Facing the risk of losing his building after a bank account seizure, Mu-cheol attempted to flee with his family at night. Im Mi-ja (played by Lee Ah-hyun), Han Tae-ha (played by Park Ji-sang), and Han Seo-woo (played by Lee So-won), who were suddenly thrown out onto the streets, spent the night in a shabby inn, confronting their grim reality.
On the other hand, Dae-sik, who safely received his lottery winnings, was overwhelmed with emotion as he and Lee Hye-sook (played by Oh Young-sil) shouted, "Happiness begins after hardship." The two promised to keep the winning news a secret from their children.
Choi Gyu-tae (played by Park Sang-myeon) was disheartened to learn that his son would require annual treatment costs of 50 million won even after surgery. At that moment, Gyu-tae received a request from Mu-cheol to transfer the building's ownership to him in exchange for selling it, which he accepted after much contemplation.
However, once the building sale was finalized, Mu-cheol's attitude changed drastically. He confronted Gyu-tae, saying, "Do you think that building is yours? It’s clearly my money, and you were just a middleman," leading to Gyu-tae's protest. Eventually, Mu-cheol coldly suggested to disregard the deal, inciting everyone's anger.
As a large deposit was made at the end of the broadcast, Gyu-tae decided to deceive Mu-cheol about the sale price. The ending unfolded with Gyu-tae lying that he sold the building, which was bought for 4 billion won, for 3 billion won, raising curiosity about what fate awaits Mu-cheol, who lost both the lottery winnings and the building sale money.
