Comedian Lee Soo-ji won the Women's Entertainment Award in the broadcasting category at the 'Baeksang Arts Awards'.

The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards took place on the evening of the 5th at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. The awards recognize the best works and actors in the broadcasting (TV), film, and theater categories for the first half of 2024 and 2025. The event was hosted by broadcaster Shin Dong-yeop, actress and singer Suzy, and actor Park Bo-gum.

On this day, Lee Soo-ji took home the Women's Entertainment Award in the broadcasting category.

Lee Soo-ji has received great love for her various parody characters, starting with SNL Korea. She stated, "I think I am the prettiest when I make people laugh. I wondered if there would be a place to bring laughter when I was going through a slump and had no stage, but the SNL team reached out to me."

She continued, "I am grateful to my husband for guiding me to become a good person," and added, "I stepped into the entertainment industry because I wanted to make people laugh. I feel like I gain the strength to make people laugh again thanks to those who send me messages saying they are positively influenced by me. I want to dedicate this award to my fellow entertainers."

The Baeksang Arts Awards is a comprehensive arts award established in 1965 to promote the development of Korean popular culture and arts and to boost the morale of artists. It awards the production teams and performers in the TV, film, and theater categories that have aired or screened over the past year.

The theme of this year's Baeksang Arts Awards is 'Towards, Sailing'. It embodies the meaning of supporting the development and journey of popular culture and arts that are moving beyond Korea to the world.
