
Actors Byun Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon have won the Prism Popularity Award at the ‘Baeksang Arts Awards’.
The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards took place on the evening of the 5th at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. The awards recognize the best works and actors in the TV, film, and theater categories for the first half of 2024 and 2025. The event was hosted by broadcaster Shin Dong-yeop, actress and singer Suzy, and actor Park Bo-gum.
On this day, Byun Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon received the popularity award for their drama ‘Jumping with Sunjae’ (tvN).
Byun Woo-seok expressed, “I am here thanks to my fans amidst my busy life,” and added, “I have seen a lot of feedback that I provide comfort. I will strive to be an actor who can offer even a little bit of comfort.”
Kim Hye-yoon stated, “It feels like I have received a heavy award as much as the love from my fans. I hope to see my fans for a long time. I will work hard to be a dedicated actor,” expressing her gratitude.
The Baeksang Arts Awards is a comprehensive arts award established in 1965 to promote the development of Korean popular culture and arts and to boost the morale of artists, awarding the production teams and performers in the TV, film, and theater categories that have aired or screened over the past year.
This year's theme for the Baeksang Arts Awards is ‘Sailing Forward’. It embodies the meaning of supporting the development and journey of popular culture and arts that are moving beyond Korea to the world.
