Actress Chae Won-bin has won the Best New Actor award in the broadcasting category at the Baeksang Arts Awards.

The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards took place on the evening of the 5th at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. The awards recognize the best works and actors in the broadcasting (TV), film, and theater categories for the first half of 2024 and 2025. The event was hosted by broadcaster Shin Dong-yeop, actress and singer Suzy, and actor Park Bo-gum.

On this day, Chae Won-bin received the Best New Actor award for her role in the drama ‘The Betrayer So Close’ (MBC).

Chae Won-bin expressed, “I don’t know where to put my body. It was a place where I learned and felt thanks to all my respected colleagues. I was able to act well and exist because of everyone’s hard work. I want to return this honor to you all,” and added, “I want to act for a lifetime. I will continue to move forward quietly and diligently.”

The Baeksang Arts Awards is a comprehensive arts award established in 1965 to promote the development of Korean popular culture and arts and to boost the morale of artists. It awards the production teams and performers in the TV, film, and theater categories that have aired or screened over the past year.

The theme of this year’s Baeksang Arts Awards is ‘Sailing Forward.’ It embodies the meaning of supporting the development and journey of popular culture and arts that are moving beyond Korea to the world.
