"I’m quite funny," said actor Lee Jun-young, showing confidence as he revealed another side of himself with his playful comedic acting.

Lee Jun-young took on the role of the fitness enthusiast Do Hyun-jung in the newly unveiled KBS2 drama '24-Hour Health Club' (directed by Park Jun-soo and Choi Yeon-soo, written by Kim Ji-soo) which aired on the 30th of last month, challenging himself with comedic romance.

Appearing as a world-class bodybuilder, he captured attention with his muscular physique and a song filled with B-grade humor. After becoming the manager of a rundown health club, he encouraged Mi-ran (played by Jung Eun-ji) to join his gym.

When he bumped into Mi-ran at the health club, he almost fell and wrapped his arms around her waist, whispering seriously, "162.7 cm and 62.8 kg," and when Mi-ran tried to run away saying, "I thought it was a real club," he mischievously smiled and replied, "It is a club. A hellish club for the fat," making everyone burst into laughter.

While comforting Mi-ran, who was tearing up during a consultation, he said, "If you cry, you'll lose muscle," showcasing his fitness fanatic persona. The scene where he transformed into a hellish lion and made Mi-ran exercise was particularly impressive.

Romance cannot be overlooked either. When Mi-ran was embarrassed in front of her ex-boyfriend due to her clothes, Do Hyun-jung showed a kind gesture by taking off his own shirt for her.

Lee Jun-young brought the somewhat exaggerated character of Do Hyun-jung to life without going overboard, enhancing the immersion. The chemistry with Jung Eun-ji, who played Mi-ran, was also great. The two perfectly blended into their characters and showcased a delightful back-and-forth.

Earlier, at the production presentation, he mentioned, "The director said that this time it captures the essence of 'This friend is more fun than I thought, and he can do comedy quite well.' I’m looking forward to it," jokingly adding, "I, Lee Jun-young, am quite funny."

His confidence was not misplaced. Transforming into the fitness enthusiast Do Hyun-jung, he left a deep impression with his playful comedic acting. In the Netflix series 'You’re So Dead,' he played Geum-myeong (IU's first love), and in 'Weak Hero 2,' he showcased a completely different charm as a villain seeking romance. He has once again succeeded in transforming his acting in '24-Hour Health Club.' Expectations are high for his performances that capture both comedy and romance.

'24-Hour Health Club' airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:50 PM.
