Singer Park Seo-jin showcased his friendship with Jin Hae-sung.
In the KBS2 broadcast of ‘Salim Nam Season 2’ (hereafter ‘Salim Nam’) airing on the 3rd, Park Seo-jin made a surprising confession about living together in the past.
On this day, Park Seo-jin invited his former roommate, who he had shared both joys and hardships with, to his home in Incheon, showing a busy scene of preparing for guests from the morning. The identity of the mysterious roommate is none other than Jin Hae-sung, a trot singer and a 14-year friend who endured the long period of being unknown together. Park Seo-jin proudly introduced Hyo-jung and Jin Hae-sung as ‘Sam-dung (Samcheongpo Dung-dong)’ and ‘Jin-dung (Jinhae Dung-dong)’ respectively, showcasing their close bond.
The two, who had lived together in a small 14-pyeong house, lay side by side in the spacious living room of Seo-jin's Incheon home, reminiscing about old memories. Jin Hae-sung revealed the story of how they ended up living together, saying, “We were living in a house without air conditioning during tough times, and Seo-jin was the one who suggested we live together. It felt like finding an oasis in the desert,” expressing his gratitude.
As they reflect on their long relationship, they share anecdotes from when they first met at ages 17 and 22, as well as the hardships of their unknown days when they were harshly told by industry seniors, “You will never succeed if you do it like you.” The special bond between the two, who shared a long period of being unknown, is expected to evoke deep emotions throughout the broadcast.
Next, Park Seo-jin, promising a full-course meal at a famous restaurant, heads somewhere with Jin Hae-sung and Hyo-jung. At this time, Jin Hae-sung and Hyo-jung display unexpected sibling chemistry, drawing attention. The two unite over food discussions, saying things like, “Who decided the portion for one serving of pork belly?” “One lunch box is too little,” and “Rice is a must when eating chicken,” bringing laughter. It is said that Park Seo-jin felt somewhat left out and even experienced a sense of alienation as the two clicked so well.
The three arrive in Ganghwa Island, where they meet Chef Shin Gye-sook, a 38-year veteran in the Chinese cuisine industry, to learn cooking. Notably, Chef Shin Gye-sook, with her fan affection for Park Seo-jin, is set to unveil new dishes like ‘Flower Sweet and Sour Pork’ and ‘Fried Noodles’ for the first time on ‘Salim Nam’ before they are patented, raising expectations. Additionally, true to her title as the ‘Queen of Dongpa-yuk,’ she presents the three with Dongpa-yuk that melts like tiramisu, and it is said that the three couldn’t help but admire it from the very first bite.
‘Salim Nam’ airs on the 3rd at 9:20 PM.
