‘Our Baby is Born’ vividly reveals the birth scene of Park Soo-hong and his wife.
The new TV Chosun entertainment show ‘Our Baby is Born (Directed by Lee Seung-hoon and Kim Joon / Writer Jang Joo-yeon)’ will premiere on May 9 at 10 PM, showcasing the precious journey of childbirth until the moment of life is born, broadcasting the heartfelt moments that can only be felt on the day of delivery. It is the first childbirth variety show in Korea.
As a childbirth broadcast, it is expected to reveal various special situations of childbirth, such as cesarean sections due to placenta previa and home births.
Lee Seung-hoon, the chief producer, stated, “While there have been cases where the production team has been present at the birth scene, the fact that the MCs will visit the birth scene directly in ‘Our Baby is Born’ will be a ‘real’ differentiating factor. I want to awaken the forgotten mystery of the birth of life with cheers and congratulations at the vivid birth scene,” explaining the reason for planning ‘Our Baby is Born’.
Recently, the German knowledge YouTube channel ‘Kurzgesagt’, which has 24 million subscribers, released a video titled ‘Korea is Finished’, predicting that due to low birth rates, Korea will eventually face ‘population extinction’, drawing global attention. Lee Seung-hoon added, “Despite the low birth rate situation, new lives with various stories, such as triplet births and home births, are being born every day. After the birth, MCs Park Soo-hong and Yang Se-hyung, along with the staff, were so moved that they hugged and cried together, so ‘Our Baby is Born’ contains joy and emotion that cannot be felt anywhere else, so please watch it closely.” In the case of ‘home birth’, MC Park Soo-hong will be present at the scene where a newborn baby is born right in the middle of the living room, capturing a spectacle that cannot be seen anywhere else, which is also drawing attention.
In particular, the production team, closely filming the childbirth situation involving both the ‘mother and baby’, is reported to be approaching the filming with a completely different attitude compared to other filming sites. Director Kim Joon stated, “Every moment is nerve-wracking, and we film while holding our breath. Newborns are sensitive to light, so we do not use lighting and try to film as unobtrusively as possible. We always have masks and protective clothing ready in the vehicle,” conveying the extremely cautious atmosphere on set.
Since it is unpredictable when the baby will be born, the production team of ‘Our Baby is Born’ had to be in a state of high tension every time. The program is expected to capture the urgency and tension of childbirth.
Director Kim Joon shared, “As soon as we heard the news of the birth, I contacted MC Park Soo-hong early in the morning. Thanks to Park Soo-hong’s daughter, Jae-i, waking up to the phone ringing, it woke up the sleeping dad. That’s how Park Soo-hong was able to rush to the birth scene in real-time,” revealing the behind-the-scenes story of how both the staff and MCs were anxiously waiting for the birth. It raises curiosity about what mysterious childbirth stories will be featured in ‘Our Baby is Born’.
‘Our Baby is Born’ will showcase the birth process of the first daughter of the couple Son Dam-bi and Lee Gyu-hyuk, as well as the childbirth journey of ‘archery queen’ Ki Bo-bae, who gave birth to her second child after seven years, and various childbirth scenes including triplet births and home births.
The first childbirth broadcast variety show in Korea, ‘Our Baby is Born’, which goes to the scene of new life’s birth to cheer and celebrate, will premiere on Friday, May 9 at 10 PM.
