Lee Gak-kyung and Jo Jung-sik have become the recipients of the DJ of the Year award at the '2024 KBS Entertainment Awards'.
The '2024 KBS Entertainment Awards' took place on the afternoon of the 21st at the KBS New Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, hosted by actor Lee Joon, singer Lee Young-ji, and Lee Chan-won.
Lee Gak-kyung from 'Lee Gak-kyung's Happy Time' said, “I’m at a loss for words. I fill two hours with listeners' stories and songs. Thanks to our loyal listeners, I am honored to receive this award. I sincerely thank you all,” and added, “Next year, I will aim for the top spot in overall listener ratings.”
Jo Jung-sik from 'Jo Jung-sik's FM Grand March' stated, “I have been hosting radio for 10 years, but this is my first award as a DJ. I take great care in selecting radio hosts. I am grateful for being given this opportunity, as I still have much to prove.”
A former SBS announcer, he humorously remarked, “I haven’t received an award at my home station either, so I want to consider KBS my home. I will fill the next 10 years at KBS.” He also expressed gratitude to all the listeners who commute in the early morning hours to protect their beloved families, saying, “These days, the sun doesn’t rise even at 7 o'clock.”
This year's award candidates included Yoo Jae-suk from 'Syncro-Yu', Jeon Hyun-moo from 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears', Ryu Soo-young from 'New Menu Launch Restaurant', Lee Chan-won from 'Immortal Songs' and 'New Menu Launch Restaurant', and Kim Jong-min from '1 Night 2 Days' Season 4.
