‘I Am Solo’ Season 25 has begun to write a new pink history.
In the episode aired on the 5th, the real dating program ‘I Am Solo’ on SBS Plus and ENA revealed the ‘hexagonal specs’ of the solo men and women who entered ‘Solo Nara 25th Street’.
This ‘Solo Nara 25th Street’ is set in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, the capital of the ancient Gaya kingdom, where the vast Gimhae plains and the Nakdong River beautifully unfold. The three MCs, Defconn, Lee I-kyung, and Song Hae-na, heightened expectations by saying, “This season’s solo men are particularly ‘cute’,” and amidst the hot interest, Youngsoo made his appearance first.
Youngsoo, who appeared with a floral backpack, revealed in a pre-interview with the production team, “My annual salary is about 500 million won. After tax, I receive about 30 to 40 million won a month and save 20 million won.” He also shared his impressive background as the student council president of C Arts High School and showcased his fantastic vocal skills.
Next to appear was Youngho, who introduced himself as a pharmacist and mentioned that his sister is a doctor, indicating a ‘medical family’. He also expressed his determination for marriage, saying, “I’m busy, but I will make time. Even independence activists dated and got married, so what’s stopping me?”
Youngsik showcased his ‘manly’ side by stating that he keeps the air conditioning on until October and appealed to his proactive personality by saying, “I’ve traveled to 52 countries. I tend to do what my heart desires.” Following him, Youngcheol revealed his career as a soccer player from K League 2, standing at 188 cm tall, and added, “National team soccer player Kim Min-jae is my junior from Y University.” He also confessed, “I like pure styles like 11th season Hyun-sook and 17th season Oksun.”
Kwangsoo, who exuded a ‘model student’ aura from the start, revealed his unique background as a K University medical school graduate, saying, “Studying is my hobby,” and that he obtained a master’s degree in law while working as a public health doctor. He also introduced himself as a painter and photographer, revealing a unique ideal type by saying, “If your face is bigger than mine, it’s scary.” Lee I-kyung, who was watching Kwangsoo, exclaimed, “He seems like an incredibly rare character!”
Sangcheol, who appeared singing folk songs, joked, “I look like Kim Woobin, who got hit by 1000 cars and was once pressed by a car,” and then revealed his elite specs of scoring full marks on the TOEIC and getting a job at the large company L Chemical right after graduation. He further explained his desperate reason for appearing on ‘I Am Solo’ by saying, “I don’t have anyone I’m personally contacting.”
After the entrance of the solo men, the charming solo women made their appearance. The first to appear was Youngsook, who said in a pre-interview with the production team, “I have an image of someone who would play around, but I’m often told I’m surprisingly good at studying. However, when I play, I definitely play hard.”
Next was Jeongsook’s turn to appear, but Defconn explained, “There was no one who matched the image of Jeongsook in this season,” and welcomed Soonja. With a pure yet radiant appearance, Soonja expressed, “I really want to get married, and I hope my grandmother is at my wedding,” showing her filial desire to gift her grandmother a wedding as the ‘first granddaughter’.
Youngja, who hails from Jinju, Gyeongnam, said, “I’ve met all the decent people in Jinju. Now, there’s no one to date,” and confidently stated, “I will never confess first, but I have many skills to steal hearts.” Oksun, who has a graceful impression, has been a flutist since elementary school. A graduate of a top music university in the U.S., Oksun revealed, “I’ve never been to a club,” indicating her ‘Confucian girl’ nature.
Hyunsook, with a sharp impression, revealed that she is a level 6 civil servant at Seoul City Hall and said, “My ideal type is a man who can be respected. I don’t really want to date civil servants.” A new name, Mikyung, who appeared instead of Jeongsook on ‘Solo Nara 25th Street’, had a model-like tall figure and a cute eye smile. Mikyung confessed her unexpected dating history, saying, “I’ve had three dating experiences, and my first relationship was at 27.”
As all 12 members completed their entrance to ‘Solo Nara’, the ‘first impression selection’ took place. The solo men recorded messages they wanted to say to the cute teddy bears and gifted them. In this first impression selection, Soonja swept the choices of Youngsoo, Youngcheol, Kwangsoo, and Sangcheol, becoming the ‘all-kill woman’. The solo men explained their choice by saying, “Her smiling face is attractive and beautiful.” On the other hand, Soonja hinted at her interest in Sangcheol and Youngcheol. Additionally, Youngho chose Hyunsook, and Youngsik chose Youngsook, while Youngja, Oksun, and Mikyung naturally became the ‘zero-vote women’.
Next, the results of the solo women’s first impression selection, which had already taken place before the solo men’s selection, were revealed. As the solo men took turns carrying their luggage to the accommodation, the solo women who had chosen them followed behind. Here, Youngsoo, Youngho, Youngsik, and Kwangsoo ended up with ‘zero votes’, while Youngcheol received selections from Youngja, Hyunsook, and Mikyung, and Sangcheol received selections from Youngsook, Soonja, and Oksun, each getting three votes.
A little later, Youngcheol fairly seated the three solo women who picked him in the back seat of the car. Hyunsook casually asked, “What if Soonja doesn’t come?” to which Youngcheol replied, “I picked my second choice for the first impression. Is it a strategy?” leaving everyone puzzled.
When all members of Season 25 arrived at the accommodation, Youngsoo took the lead. He personally delivered the solo women’s luggage to their rooms and showed concern for Youngja, who brought an amount of luggage that was almost like moving, saying, “I keep feeling sorry and worried.”
After entering the accommodation, Kwangsoo took a shower first and wore an ‘INFJ T-shirt’ to appeal to the solo women about his MBTI, while Youngcheol, who became a ‘three-vote man’, accidentally deleted the recordings of Hyunsook and Youngja while bringing in three teddy bears. Immediately after, Hyunsook asked, “Did you hear my first impression selection comment?” to which a flustered Youngcheol replied, “That didn’t work? Did I press the wrong button?” disappointing Hyunsook.
Youngsik actively expressed his interest while preparing dinner next to Mikyung, with whom he had many conversations. Youngsoo continued to take care of Youngja, switching to ‘dad mode’. In response, Youngja called Youngsoo “dad,” which he interpreted as a signal from her. Youngcheol called Hyunsook and Youngja in succession, activating his ‘active mode’, and with the ‘self-introduction time’ promising a ‘special twist’, expectations for the upcoming romance of Season 25 soared.
