‘The Studio’, selected as the opening film for the 32nd South by Southwest Film Festival, will unveil on the 26th.
Apple TV+’s ‘The Studio’ is a comedy series that depicts the struggles of Matt Lemke (Seth Rogen), who has lived his life with a passion for film, as he takes the helm of his dream movie studio and grapples with the conflict between art and commerce to create the best film.
The newly released trailer captures Matt Lemke’s efforts to juggle various parties, filming locations, casting decisions, marketing meetings, and award ceremonies, as he strives to catch both the artistic and commercial rabbits. For Matt Lemke, who has only ever focused on film, the position of head of Continental Studios is a lifelong dream, but amidst the film industry facing a crisis of existence, unexpected challenges continuously arise before him.
“I started this job because I love movies, but I’m scared it feels like I’m ruining them,” is a line that hints at the internal power struggles and conflicts among executives, raising curiosity about Matt Lemke’s arduous journey as he faces difficulties in a shaky film industry.
Seth Rogen perfectly embodies Matt Lemke. The cast includes the Emmy-winning and SAG and Golden Globe award-winning Catherine O'Hara, along with Emmy-nominated Catherine Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders, promising a stellar performance. Each episode will feature special appearances by Brian Cranston, Kayla Monteiroso Mejia, and Dwayne Perkins, all of whom have won Academy Awards and Emmys.
‘The Studio’ consists of a total of 10 episodes, with two episodes premiering on the 26th, followed by one episode released weekly through Apple TV+ until May 21.
