Shin Jong-cheol, the head chef of 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears', reveals an unexpected friendship with Sunwoo Yong-yeo and Lee Kyung-sil.
In the KBS2 show 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' (hereafter 'Sadangui') airing on the 9th, head chef Shin Jong-cheol invites Sunwoo Yong-yeo and Lee Kyung-sil, who have a mother-son-like relationship, to evaluate the new menu for March.
After a warm hug with Shin Jong-cheol, Sunwoo Yong-yeo introduces Lee Kyung-sil by saying, "You know? Our son," and adds, "I've known him for over 10 years. He feels like my son," revealing their special bond.
In response, Shin Jong-cheol states, "Sunwoo Yong-yeo's mother and Lee Kyung-sil are buffet experts I recognize. The menus they pick have become signatures," showcasing his strong trust and relationship with them. Sunwoo Yong-yeo continuously expresses her affection, saying, "Our son is handsome," to which Shin Jong-cheol replies, "He is a handsome son," revealing a mutual admiration between the mother and son.
When it was revealed that Sunwoo Yong-yeo and Lee Kyung-sil were invited as evaluators for the March new menu, the studio erupted in protests. Kim Sook, Jeon Hyun-moo, and Park Myung-soo all protested in unison, "Why weren't we invited?" Jeon Hyun-moo strongly appealed, "We need ordinary taste buds like ours," causing laughter.
On that day, Sunwoo Yong-yeo revealed a photo of her grandson Eden, saying, "He's all grown up now. He's 9 years old." In response, Lee Kyung-sil showed a photo of her grandson, born from her estranged son Son Bo-seung due to premarital pregnancy, and shared her feelings about becoming a grandmother early. Lee Kyung-sil expressed pride, saying, "These days, he calls me Halmi."
As the March new menu, starting with a tuna sandwich, was opened, Lee Kyung-sil expressed disappointment over the appetizers being small enough to fit in one bite, asking, "It can't be that this is how it continues, right?" and added, "It's a shame to swallow it," revealing her anticipation for the March new menu course.
However, Lee Kyung-sil, dissatisfied with the small portions of dishes like Peking duck and lamb chops, complained, "Isn't this children's lamb chops? We're not entertainers, we're workers," and continued to throw sharp remarks, saying, "It wasn't like this before; he's become too self-absorbed. He's changed a lot while I wasn't looking," leaving head chef Shin Jong-cheol flustered. In response, Park Myung-soo couldn't hold back his laughter, saying, "Sister, you've held back a lot."
Whether the March new menu, which head chef Shin Jong-cheol has meticulously prepared, can succeed amidst Lee Kyung-sil's sharp remarks will be revealed in the main broadcast of 'Sadangui'.
