KBS entertainment is running again this year. Embracing Kang Ho-dong, Lee Min-jung, and Park Bo-gum, it has hinted at a more public and youthful entertainment program.
On the morning of the 7th, a presentation for the 2025 KBS spring new entertainment programs was held at the KBS New Building in Yeouido, Seoul. Han Kyung-cheon, head of the entertainment center, CP Lee Hwang-seon of 'Study and Play', CP Park Deok-seon of 'Going and Coming Lee Min-jung', CP Park Seok-hyung of 'The Seasons', and CP Park Min-jeong of 'Problematic Kids in the Rooftop Room' attended.
Han Kyung-cheon, head of the entertainment center, stated, "There were many trial and error last year. We had experimental programs that did not yield good results. This year, we have cast popular figures. Kang Ho-dong is returning to KBS after a long time since 'Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education'. I think it is more accurate to say that 'Problematic Kids in the Rooftop Room' is a return rather than a new season. New MCs like Hong Jin-kyung and Joo Woo-jae are also joining, and it feels new to work together as MCs since we collaborated on 'Love's Intervention' when Joo Woo-jae was at KBSN," he said.
He continued, "Lee Min-jung has done variety shows on other networks, but this is her first terrestrial outdoor variety show. We have high expectations. We are also ambitious. Lee Min-jung's agency also has Son Ye-jin and Wi Ha-jun, but there have been very few actors appearing on KBS entertainment. Nowadays, many actors are appearing, and we have recruited those who will appeal to the younger demographic of 2049. Park Bo-gum has been in charge of the overseas tour MC for 'Music Bank', and we agreed to work together this time. We have prepared programs that young people will enjoy," he explained.
The quiz talk show 'Study and Play', hosted by broadcaster Kang Ho-dong, will air on the 31st at 9:50 PM.
CP Lee Hwang-seon described 'Study and Play', saying, "The concept of our program is simple. Famous people with elementary school children will appear for about 8 minutes to solve what their children learn in school." He added, "Kang Ho-dong is returning to KBS after 10 years, and he has excellent hosting skills. He is an MC that fits well with KBS, having worked on great shows like '1 Night 2 Days' and 'Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education', so we have high expectations."
CP Lee also mentioned, "Lee Soo-hyun is a trot prodigy and serves as a spokesperson for the children's inner thoughts. Lee Ho-young is a promising figure in entertainment, and since he has a good relationship with Kang Ho-dong, we thought he could serve as a bridge with the kids, so we recruited him." He added, "We aim to create a program that everyone, regardless of age, can comfortably watch. Each broadcasting station has genres that fit well, and KBS has programs like '1 Night 2 Days'. Our entertainment shows are all good-natured programs."
The 7th season of 'The Seasons', hosted by actor Park Bo-gum, titled 'Park Bo-gum's Cantabile', will unveil on the 14th. The returning knowledge talk show 'Problematic Kids in the Rooftop Room' will air on April 3 at 8:30 PM.
CP Park Min-jeong explained, "'Problematic Kids in the Rooftop Room' is KBS's flagship quiz program. There has been a thirst for more guests in KBS entertainment, and I believe 'Problematic Kids in the Rooftop Room' will serve as a good outlet to solve that issue."
Actor Lee Min-jung's rural reality show 'Going and Coming Lee Min-jung' will premiere on May 23 at 10 PM.
In this regard, CP Park Deok-seon emphasized, "Lee Min-jung will ride a mobile truck to sell goods to village residents and share warmth. I believe it will be a warm and kind entertainment program that viewers can comfortably watch."
Han Kyung-cheon, head of the entertainment center, stated, "KBS programs may seem outdated and tend to fall behind in trends. However, I am confident that it will be a program that the whole family can comfortably watch for a long time."
