In ‘Check-in Hanyang’, the cross-dressing woman Kim Ji-eun had her true gender exposed in front of everyone.
In the episode aired on the 4th, the Channel A weekend drama ‘Check-in Hanyang’ (written by Park Hyun-jin, directed by Myung Hyun-woo and Noh Gyu-yeob) depicted the struggles of the four friends, Lee Eun-ho (played by Bae In-hyuk), Hong Deok-soo (played by Kim Ji-eun), Cheon Jun-hwa (played by Jung Geon-joo), and Go Soo-ra (played by Park Jae-chan), as they served the esteemed guest Lady Do-gyeong (played by Kwon Eun-bin) at Yongcheonru. In the end, Hong Deok-soo was exposed as a woman in front of everyone at Yongcheonru, adding to the tension.
In this episode, while transforming into a woman and escaping from the peony banquet, Hong Deok-soo was caught by the elder's attendant, known as a lecher, and was offered as a gift to the elder. Lee Eun-ho, Cheon Jun-hwa, and Go Soo-ra jumped over the wall to save Hong Deok-soo. At that moment, Hong Deok-soo showcased her clothes at the elder's command.
In fact, the elder's identity was not the lecherous old man but Lady Do-gyeong (played by Kwon Eun-bin), the niece of Byeongpan (played by Yoon Je-moon). Due to the commotion caused by the three trying to save Hong Deok-soo, Do-gyeong slapped Hong Deok-soo. Then, the chief maid Seol Mae-hwa (played by Kim Min-jung) entered to calm the chaos and advised Lee Eun-ho, Cheon Jun-hwa, and Go Soo-ra, saying, “If you want to change Yongcheonru, you must become its owner.”
The final test for the top and bottom rooms to become official attendants of Yongcheonru was to satisfy the highest guest, Lady Do-gyeong. Lady Do-gyeong made the test difficult by nitpicking everything the four friends did.
In particular, Do-gyeong released her pet parrot from its cage and even gave the unreasonable order to find it. Hong Deok-soo realized that Do-gyeong wanted to escape from the cage-like surveillance. In fact, Do-gyeong had to go to Onyang the next day to meet the shadowy military officer Lee Eun (played by Bae In-hyuk) at the command of Byeongpan, which was part of Byeongpan's scheme to arrange a marriage between Lee Eun and Do-gyeong to make his grandson Seon-yang the crown prince.
In response, Hong Deok-soo proposed a game of slap betting to Do-gyeong, suggesting that if she won, they would go out at night. Seol Mae-hwa, who came to deliver Byeongpan's command, recalled the young girl Hong Jae-on, whom she had taught slap betting. After winning the bet, Hong Deok-soo planned a night outing with the four friends.
Go Soo-ra dressed as a woman and distracted the attendants, while Lee Eun-ho went ahead to prepare for the outing by the lake. Do-gyeong disguised herself as a training attendant and set off for the outing with Hong Deok-soo and Cheon Jun-hwa. As people gathered at Yongcheonru, Hong Deok-soo lured them away, and in the process, she met Lee Eun-ho first.
A private outing between Lee Eun-ho and Hong Deok-soo took place, and they spent time catching fireflies for Do-gyeong. Cheon Jun-hwa, who joined the outing late, sensed the strange atmosphere between the two. While Lee Eun-ho, Hong Deok-soo, Cheon Jun-hwa, and Do-gyeong enjoyed the beautiful lake scenery, the people of Yongcheonru, alerted by Kim Myung-ho (played by Lee Ho-won), barged in.
As a result, everyone, including Lady Do-gyeong, was summoned to a gathering with Seol Mae-hwa and the three great families. At this gathering, Kim Myung-ho, based on his suspicions, exposed, “Hong Deok-soo is a woman.” Along with this, he tore Hong Deok-soo's clothes in front of everyone. Seeing the wounds on Hong Deok-soo through the torn clothes, Seol Mae-hwa recalled Hong Jae-on, who had escaped with a wound on her arm 12 years ago.
Hong Deok-soo, exposed as a woman in front of everyone. Will she be able to survive safely at Yongcheonru? Moreover, will Seol Mae-hwa, who is reminded of Hong Jae-on from 12 years ago, realize her true identity? The next story of ‘Check-in Hanyang’ is eagerly anticipated and awaited as it becomes increasingly exciting.
Meanwhile, episode 6 of ‘Check-in Hanyang’ will air on the 5th at 9:10 PM.
