A special 'Countdown Show' to light up the last day of the year is coming.
The 'KBS 2025 Countdown Show LIGHT NOW' (directed by Ko Guk-jin, hereafter 'Countdown Show') will be held on the 31st at the outdoor stage in front of the Shinsegae main store in Myeongdong, Seoul.
The 'Countdown Show' will serve as a festival celebrating the last day of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, establishing itself as the holy ground for the countdown in South Korea through videos and performances that can be enjoyed by the whole world.
This 'Countdown Show' will feature a variety of K-pop artists from different genres, including Park Jin-young, Byul, 2AM, Jannabi, Stella Jang, Choi Yu-ri, Xdinary Heroes, Kep1er, Psycus, All Hours, Now or Never, Bad Villain, and Say My Name, who will join global fans for the New Year countdown.
The performance will create stages in two locations: the Seoul Central Post Office Plaza and the fountain plaza next to Shinsegae, showcasing a variety of visuals. Right after the first public reveal of the countdown video that will light up the New Year on the large LED screen at Shinsegae, a massive fireworks display is also planned.
KBS stated, “Through this 'Countdown Show', we aim to make Myeongdong Square in Seoul a hotspot comparable to New York's Times Square by presenting a countdown show that has never been experienced before,” adding, “We plan to deliver a dazzling light and a message of hope to viewers welcoming the new year.”
The 'KBS 2025 Countdown Show LIGHT NOW' will begin accepting audience applications through the KBS website from 3 PM on the 13th. Audience members will receive LED knuckles and two large hot packs. The show will be broadcasted at 11 PM on the 31st.
