The sudden declaration and subsequent lifting of martial law by President Yoon Suk-yeol has caused a state of emergency in the broadcasting industry as well. Broadcasters are canceling entertainment programs and arranging news specials.

MBC announced on the 4th, "The MBC program 'Radio Star', which was scheduled to air at 10:30 PM on the 4th, will be canceled due to the arrangement of 'MBC News Special'. We ask for the viewers' understanding." The program 'Village Chief Lee Jang-woo', which was scheduled to air at 9 PM on the same day, will also be canceled due to the 'MBC News Special' arrangement.

SBS is currently discussing the cancellation of the entertainment program 'The Girl Who Sees the World - Expansion of the Universe', which was scheduled to air at 9 PM that day. The decision on whether it will air is expected to be confirmed in the afternoon.

On the other hand, KBS, which has two channels, KBS1 and KBS2, will continue normal broadcasting. A KBS official stated to Maeil Business Star Today, "The KBS2 entertainment program 'The Return of Superman' and the Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Face Me' will air as scheduled."

Meanwhile, TV Chosun, a comprehensive programming channel, announced the cancellation of the entertainment program 'Miss Three'. The 'Miss Three' team stated through their official channel, "We inform you that 'Miss Three', which was scheduled to air today, has been canceled. We ask for the viewers' understanding."

In the meantime, President Yoon Suk-yeol declared martial law on the 3rd at around 10:24 PM, stating, "To eradicate the pro-North Korea anti-state forces at once and to protect the free constitutional order."

In response, the National Assembly held a plenary session around 1 AM on the 4th and passed a resolution demanding the lifting of martial law. President Yoon stated, "I accept the National Assembly's request and humbly accept the will of the people," lifting the martial law just six hours later.
