Kang Full, who gained immense popularity with the Disney+ original content ‘Moving’, has returned once again with ‘Lighting Store’. He shared his thoughts on the expectations placed upon him.
On the morning of the 3rd, a production presentation for the Disney+ original series ‘Lighting Store’ was held at the Grand Ballroom Hall in COEX, located in Samseong-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. The event was attended by Joo Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young, Kim Seol-hyun, Eom Tae-goo, Lee Jung-eun, Kim Min-ha, Park Hyuk-kwon, Shin Eun-soo, Kim Sun-hwa, director Kim Hee-won, and writer Kang Full. The event was hosted by broadcaster Park Kyung-rim. One of the lead actors, Bae Sung-woo, was absent due to personal reasons.
‘Lighting Store’, which will be released on the 4th, tells the story of mysterious guests with hidden secrets who visit the only place that brightens the dark alley, ‘Lighting Store’.
As the highly anticipated follow-up to the global sensation ‘Moving’ in 2023, it is regarded as one of Disney+’s top expectations, and it is Kang Full’s second scriptwriting work. Notably, director Kim Hee-won, who has showcased dense acting and remarkable expressiveness in various films and dramas, including the role of ‘Choi Il-hwan’, the homeroom teacher in ‘Moving’, is taking on the challenge of directing his first series.
Kang Full gained significant popularity with ‘Moving 1’, which was released through Disney+ in August last year. As a result, it continues to be a representative work for Disney+ this year as well. In the fourth week of August last year, when ‘Moving’ was released, the weekly usage time of the Disney+ app reached 185 million minutes (approximately 3.08 million hours), a 130% increase compared to 80 million minutes in the first week before the release of ‘Moving’.
Regarding this, Kang Full, who is also preparing for the launch of ‘Moving 2’ alongside ‘Lighting Store’, stated, “There is some pressure about the next project. I hope it continues to do well with Disney in the future so we can keep working together.”
‘Lighting Store’ consists of a total of 8 episodes. The first 4 episodes will be released consecutively on the 4th, followed by 2 episodes each week for the next 2 weeks.
