The unspoken rule between Yoo Yeon-seok and Chae Soo-bin in ‘Show Window: The Queen’s House’ has been broken.
In the MBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Call You Just Made’ (written by Kim Ji-woon, directed by Park Sang-woo and Wi Deuk-kyu), Baek Sa-eon (played by Yoo Yeon-seok) acknowledges the existence of his wife Hong Hee-joo (played by Chae Soo-bin) for the first time, marking a new turning point. The viewership rating for the third episode recorded 6% nationwide and 5.6% in the metropolitan area (according to Nielsen Korea, based on households), setting a new personal best. In particular, the scene where Hee-joo suddenly remembers the kidnapper due to a malfunction of the police car radio and jumps out of the car soared to a peak rating of 6.5%.
In yesterday's broadcast, Sa-eon, who was injured all over due to a bombing, immediately returned home and began to interrogate Hee-joo. Suspecting a relationship between the blackmailer and Hee-joo, Sa-eon attempted to undress her to verify the authenticity of a photo sent by the blackmailer but could not bring himself to do it. When Sa-eon hesitated for a moment, Hee-joo took the opportunity to push him away forcefully, narrowly escaping the situation.
Sa-eon checked Hee-joo's phone under the pretext of looking for hacking traces and discovered that she had made a separate appointment with Ji Sang-woo (played by Heo Nam-jun). With his nerves on edge, he used a meeting with junior announcer Na Yu-ri (played by Jang Gyu-ri) as an excuse to visit the restaurant where the two were, pretending it was a coincidence to run into Hee-joo.
After joining Hee-joo at the table, Sa-eon began to gather information about Sang-woo. However, Sang-woo was uncomfortable with Sa-eon's actions. “Are you interested in me?” he asked, leading to a tense standoff between the two. Unable to watch this, Hee-joo called Sa-eon out to confront him, but Sa-eon responded, “Do you know me that well? How much do you know about me?” showing an unusual side of himself. While chasing the blackmailer, Sa-eon also instructed Park Do-jae (played by Choi Woo-jin) to investigate Sang-woo.
Meanwhile, signs of the kidnapper (played by Park Jae-yoon) hovering around Hee-joo sent chills down everyone’s spine. The kidnapper, realizing that Hee-joo had obtained the threatening phone, sent a signal for her to contact him. Judging that there was little time left to demand a divorce from Sa-eon, Hee-joo called her husband again using the threatening phone. However, Sa-eon firmly stated that he had no intention of ending his marriage with his wife, leaving Hee-joo confused.
After the call with the blackmailer, Sa-eon returned home and, seemingly indifferent, took care of his wife, stirring excitement. Thinking that even his personal office was not safe, Sa-eon lay down next to Hee-joo in her bed and said, “Just think of the day you were kidnapped as a bad dream. Forget everything you heard then,” comforting her wounded heart. However, in Hee-joo's dream, she continued to relive the past where she lost her voice due to the coercion of Kim Yeon-hee (played by Oh Hyun-kyung), adding to the sorrow.
Towards the end of the broadcast, the kidnapper began to take serious action by threatening Hee-joo using her biological father Na Jin-cheol (played by Park Won-sang) as leverage, creating extreme tension. Realizing that the kidnapper was with Jin-cheol, Hee-joo hurried to the nursing home, but the kidnapper had already left. While moving with police officers to report the incident, Hee-joo was frustrated by the reality of seeing the police car that had been hacked by the kidnapper and feeling powerless.
At that moment, Sa-eon, who arrived with an escort, approached the police officers and declared, “This person is my wife,” causing a stir in the living rooms. Sa-eon's declaration, revealing his wife's existence to the public for the first time in three years of marriage, exploded dopamine levels and heightened anticipation for the next episode.
