KATSEYE, a girl group formed by the collaboration of HYBE and Geffen Records, has achieved a significant milestone on the world's largest music platform, Spotify.
According to Spotify on the 1st, KATSEYE's second EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' has recently surpassed a total of 700 million streams. This is the highest number of streams for a single album by a girl group released so far this year.
KATSEYE's Spotify Monthly Listeners are showing explosive growth. The number of monthly listeners during the debut EP 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)' was 8.19 million, which has now increased to 32.03 million, making them the top girl group in the same period (September 1-30).
Their rising popularity is also evident on various global charts. 'Gabriela' reached 10th place on Spotify's 'Weekly Top Songs Global' (September 19-25), setting a new record for KATSEYE on that chart. 'Gnarly' is at 72nd place (21 weeks cumulative), and 'Touch' is at 156th place (18 weeks cumulative), continuing their successful run on the chart.
KATSEYE's strong performance continues on the US Billboard charts as well. 'Gabriela' ranked 56th on the latest 'Hot 100' chart (as of October 4). Based on streaming counts from over 200 countries/regions worldwide, the song placed 20th on the 'Global 200' and 13th on the 'Global (excluding the US)' chart, demonstrating solid momentum even amidst the entry of new songs from pop star Cardi B into the top ranks this week.
The EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' rose one spot to 29th on the 'Billboard 200', marking its 13th consecutive week on the chart. Previously, 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' peaked at 4th place (as of July 12) and is currently ranked 11th and 10th on the 'Top Album Sales' and 'Top Current Album Sales' charts, respectively, showcasing its enduring album power.
KATSEYE is a group that is realizing the 'globalization of the K-pop system' led by HYBE's chairman Bang Si-hyuk. They were selected through the global audition project 'The Debut: Dream Academy', which attracted 120,000 applicants worldwide, and debuted in the US based on HYBE America's T&D (Training & Development) system.
The EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' is an album that expresses the beautiful chaos that KATSEYE has encountered as they transcend their limits as artists, through their unique perspective and emotions.
