Suga of the group BTS has added another music video to the 100 million views club with his solo track 'Haegeum'.
The music video for 'Haegeum', the title track from Suga's solo album 'D-Day' released under the name 'Agust D' in April 2023, surpassed 100 million views on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel at 5:07 AM on the 14th.
With this, Suga now has three music videos with over 100 million views, following the title tracks 'Agust D' from his mixtape and 'Daechwita' from 'D-2'.
'Haegeum' is a hip-hop genre song that utilizes the sound of the traditional Korean instrument haegeum. Through the dual meaning of 'haegeum' (해금), which refers to the instrument and also means 'to lift a ban', it presents the theme of 'freedom'.
The music video features a noir film-like atmosphere, a well-structured story, and elements of tension that stand out. The confrontation and dramatic twist between the characters 'Being' and 'Exister' leave a strong impression.
'D-Day' is the final album in the Agust D trilogy (a three-part series) following 'Agust D' and 'D-2'. Suga wrote, composed, and produced all the tracks on this album, which revolves around the theme of 'liberation'. Upon its release, it entered the Billboard 200 chart at number 2 (as of May 6, 2023).
