‘Big Hit Music rookie’ Cortis has lit up the music charts.

According to global music streaming platform YouTube Music, Cortis's debut album title track ‘What You Want’ surpassed 10 million cumulative plays as of the 28th. This achievement came just 10 days after the release of the song on the 18th. It is quite rare for a rookie boy group to achieve 10 million streams on this platform in such a short time. Given that YouTube Music boasts a high market share both domestically and internationally, it reflects Cortis's growing popularity.

On the same day, Cortis's monthly viewers on YouTube Music reached 10.1 million. This figure estimates the number of global users who have viewed their content or listened to their music over the past 28 days. Considering that Cortis's official YouTube account was opened just 10 days ago, it means that 10.1 million people have enjoyed Cortis's content in just 18 days.

Cortis is rapidly climbing the ranks on the domestic music charts, where major artists are currently competing fiercely. ‘What You Want’ entered the Korean Apple Music ‘Top 100 of Today’ at 91st place (as of August 20) and rose to 19th place in the latest chart (as of August 26), gaining momentum in popularity. On Spotify’s ‘Daily Top Songs Korea’, it climbed from 137th place (as of August 22) to 61st place (as of August 26).

Their overseas achievements are also noteworthy. Cortis's debut album ‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES’ ranked 10th in the latest ‘Countdown Chart Global’ (as of August 27), which is based on the most pre-saved pages by Spotify users. They stood shoulder to shoulder with major American artists like Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Doja Cat. This supports the high expectations and popularity of Cortis among music fans worldwide.

‘What You Want’ gained traction after its first stage performance on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’ on the 21st. The fresh choreography utilizing a treadmill and the intense performance received a warm response. Their solid vocal skills showcased on KBS Cool FM’s ‘Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show’ also played a significant role in increasing their recognition.

While music and stage performances served as a ‘gateway to fandom’, their original content effectively instilled fan loyalty. After making a strong impression on stage, they continuously released dance practice videos, rehearsal footage, and self-produced music videos on their official YouTube channel. True to their identity as a ‘Young Creator Crew’ that co-creates music, choreography, and videos, they captivated fans by sharing the authentic process of their practice and work. Additionally, the members' unfiltered moments and delightful chemistry in their daily lives enhanced the team's appeal.

Meanwhile, on the morning of the 28th, Cortis posted the final concept photo for their debut album ‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES’, set to be officially released on September 8, on their official SNS. In the photo, the members showcased their candid charm by singing freely and posing playfully in a photo booth.
