Comedian Kim In-seok revealed in a video on the 'New Jeans' YouTube channel that he had become a pastor of a pioneering church, but this was not true.
On the 11th, Kim In-seok clarified the rumors about his conversion to a pastor through his social media, stating, "It was a skit."
Kim In-seok said, "Recently, a video was uploaded on Seong-ho's YouTube channel featuring the 'Monk and Pastor' concept that I've been doing since 'Comedy Big League,' and there are some people who contacted me thinking I really became a pastor! Even a reporter from a newspaper reached out for an interview," and added, "Everyone! I am still actively working as a broadcaster! If I ever become a pastor, I will let you know first!" correcting the facts.
Earlier, a video was released on the YouTube channel 'New Seong-ho bbakoo' showing comedian Yoon Seong-ho, who is active under the Buddhist name 'New Jeans,' visiting a church.
In the video, Yoon Seong-ho, dressed as a monk, visited a church opened by his classmate. The person who welcomed Yoon Seong-ho at that church was none other than Kim In-seok.
Kim In-seok welcomed him, saying, "Brother, come into the house of God," while also calling him by his nickname "Ssaebsaeb," revealing their close relationship.
Yoon Seong-ho responded, "How can you call me Ssaebsaeb?" and jokingly retorted, "This guy's nickname is 'Kkabuli.' I don't know how someone who used to mess around like that became a pastor. He used to steal other people's money."
However, Kim In-seok calmly replied, "Now I only steal the hearts of our sisters. I only mess around in the embrace of God," and expressed his aspirations, saying, "This is a newly starting pioneering church. I will expand this sanctuary further. I believe that the beginning may be weak, but the end will be glorious, and I believe that God will work in all of this."
Recently, as news of stars choosing second careers and taking on challenges has been reported, Kim In-seok was also seen in a real situation, but it was a skit. After sharing a post capturing his article, he humorously clarified, "Is that character me? Or am I that character?" bringing laughter.
Kim In-seok debuted as a theater actor in 1998 and gained fame as a KBS public comedian in 2001. He appeared in various popular segments on the KBS comedy program 'Gag Concert' and collaborated with Yoon Seong-ho. In 2003, he received the Best Corner Award in the Comedy category at the 'KBS Entertainment Awards.'
In 2014, he married broadcaster Angela Park and has one son.
