Singer Jennie graced the cover of the August special edition of the fashion magazine 'Elle'.
In an interview conducted alongside a photoshoot featuring the 'Chanel 2025 Fall/Winter Ready-to-Wear Pre-Collection', she shared her thoughts on daily life, her solo album 'Ruby', and the message behind the song 'Like Jennie'.
Regarding her daily life, Jennie said, "When I think of my favorite moment, it seems to be when I wake up late after getting plenty of sleep in very comfortable clothes at home, open the window, and look at the sky. It's really simple and nothing special, but I love the calmness and warmth I feel at that moment."
As BLACKPINK's full group activities began with the new song 'Jump', Jennie reflected on the impact of her time spent alone on the team, saying, "While preparing for this solo album 'Ruby', I learned and felt a lot. I kept challenging myself and going through trial and error to improve the quality, and at some point, I felt that I had become a bit stronger. Since the other members also went through their own journeys and returned, we understand each other more deeply and have become a more flexible and mature team. I think this activity will be really special for both me and the members."
Regarding the intention behind using her name in the solo song 'Like Jennie', which has gained great popularity both domestically and internationally, she explained, "'Jennie' in 'Like Jennie' is just a pronoun. I created this song to convey the message that anyone who names themselves can love themselves and shine in their own way, and it was simply used because my name is 'Jennie'. I hope everyone who sings this song can have that mindset." She added, "I also gained confidence while singing this song. The path I've walked so far has been tough, but it gives a positive resonance that I'm going in the right direction and doing well."
