As the controversy surrounding member Shinji's fiancé Moonwon continues, the group Koyote has confirmed their comeback this summer.
According to their agency JG Star on the 11th, Koyote (Kim Jong-min, Shinji, Baekga) will release their new song "Call Me" on August 6 at 6 PM through various online music platforms.
The new song "Call Me" is a track in a new genre called "RE-DM," which combines retro and trendy EDM, composed by Choi Jun-young, the songwriter behind Koyote's hit songs "Pure Love" and "Heartbreak," who has collaborated with the members once again after a long time.
Previously, Koyote showcased a new image through songs like "Go," "Hero," "Half," and "Wind," and with "Call Me," they are expected to deliver another classic album that represents the original "King of Fun."
Celebrating their 27th anniversary this year, Koyote is the longest-running co-ed group and has received great love from the public. With the new song release announced, the agency stated that a concert tour is scheduled to begin in September, so fans can look forward to Koyote's activities across the country in the second half of this year.
Shinji revealed her marriage to singer Moonwon on the 23rd of last month, but various suspicions have emerged, leading to ongoing controversy. Moonwon has stated that allegations regarding "real estate fraud," "bullying during school and military service," and "premarital pregnancy with his ex-wife" are "completely unfounded." However, due to his recent behavior on broadcasts, many in the public still harbor doubts about Shinji's marriage.
Recently, Baekga appeared on KBS Cool FM's "Park Myung-soo's Radio Show" with Shinji and expressed, "Watching from the side, I felt uneasy. In fact, (marriage) should be something to be blessed, but there are people who think differently," conveying his regret.
Shinji also stated, "First of all, many people have shown concern and worry. I think I lived a long time thinking that I wasn't loved by so many people," and added, "Through this series of events, I realized once again that I have been loved by many people for 27 years, and I feel sorry for causing fatigue to many."
Fans who have opposed and expressed concern about Shinji's marriage have also shown disappointment at her firm stance, saying, "First, congratulations, but it's true that we are worried," and expressed their honest reactions, saying, "You only know when you experience it."
In this situation, Koyote, who has been preparing for a new album, continues their activities without any issues.
