A former employee of the content startup FastView, accused of producing and distributing defamatory videos about Hive artists, will face legal judgment.

According to the police on the 22nd, the Seoul Suseo Police recently sent former FastView employee A to the prosecutors with charges of defamation and insult under the Information and Communications Network Act. A, who produced the video, is reported to have worked as a team leader at FastView but has since resigned.

FastView is a small to medium-sized enterprise primarily engaged in content creation and distribution, operating a YouTube channel and an online news platform.

Hive filed a lawsuit last year, claiming that video content uploaded on FastView's YouTube channels 'DaiShu' and 'PeopleBox' spread false information and tarnished the reputation of its artists. They argue that this is a so-called 'reverse viral' act intended to defame specific companies and artists.

The content at the time included allegations that a member of the group ILY:1, under Belift Lab, mentioned specific foods for the purpose of defaming a member of NewJeans. Additionally, suspicions were raised regarding Hive and its artists being related to a cult.

The video is also entangled in a civil lawsuit. Last August, Hive, along with Belift Lab and Source Music, filed a damage compensation lawsuit amounting to 280 million won against a total of seven channels, including FastView's YouTube channel. In September of that year, they even applied for a subpoena to identify the operator of the YouTube channel in the Northern District Court of California, specifying the channel operator.
