“I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate 25 years with my fans at this festival.”

‘Asia's Star’ BoA is set to have a special time reflecting on her long musical journey with fans ahead of her appearance at the ‘2025 Weverse Con Festival’ (hereafter Weverse Con). This stage is expected to highlight her charm as the top female solo artist with numerous hit songs and as a key figure in the ‘globalization of K-pop’.

BoA will perform on both days of Weverse Con, which will be held at Incheon Inspire Arena on the 31st and June 1st. The ‘Tribute Stage’ she will perform on will spotlight an artist who has had a profound impact on Korean popular music, with BoA taking the baton this year as she celebrates her 25th debut anniversary, following the late Shin Hae-chul, Seo Taiji, Um Jung-hwa, and Park Jin-young.

The Weverse Con organizers stated, “BoA is a symbolic artist in Korean popular music history who proved the potential for K-pop's overseas expansion by entering the Japanese market and topping the Oricon charts at a time when the term K-pop was still unfamiliar.” This was the reason for her selection as this year's tribute artist.

BoA expressed, “I understand that the Tribute Stage is a signature stage of Weverse Con, and I am very happy to be part of it. It is especially meaningful to celebrate this long journey with many people, starting from before K-pop became a global genre to now, as I mark my 25th debut anniversary this year.”

As a pioneer of K-pop, BoA remarked, “K-pop is receiving global love to the extent that dedicated categories have been created in major overseas charts, and I feel that it has now established itself as a culture beyond just music.” She added her thoughts on the remarkable growth and changes in K-pop.

BoA also reflected on the significance of this festival, which features junior artists leading the current K-pop scene. She mentioned, “It feels special to experience performances from various generations of artists in one place at Weverse Con.” She continued, “I have felt proud when many junior artists have told me they like my music or covered my songs, but now that I think about seeing them perform live in front of me, I feel a bit shy and excited,” expressing her anticipation for the cover performances by junior artists on the Tribute Stage.

BoA shared her viewing points for this stage as well. She said, “Since it’s a festival, I plan to perform songs that many people love with a lively band live,” and urged, “I will focus on songs that allow the audience to breathe together and sing along, so please enjoy.” She also added, “Let’s recharge our energy to jump and play together and meet at the concert,” raising expectations for the upcoming stage.

Meanwhile, Weverse Con is a music festival that brings together global fans across genres and generations, providing a unique concert experience using the Weverse platform. This year, it has expanded to include a diverse lineup of 27 teams, featuring K-pop artists, bands, musical actors, and more, marking the largest lineup in history. Additionally, the night performances at Weverse Park have been added, enhancing its profile as a rich music festival for audiences.
