WOOZI of the group (G)I-DLE has clarified his recent controversial statement regarding 'self-purchasing concert tickets.'

(G)I-DLE (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, WOOZI, Shuhua) held a press conference to commemorate the release of their mini album 'We Are' on the afternoon of the 19th at the Chosun Palace Seoul Gangnam in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

WOOZI expressed his dissatisfaction about having to purchase tickets with his own money to gift to friends during a recent appearance on the YouTube content 'Salon Drip.' Following this, netizens pointed out that it was an inconsiderate remark that failed to take into account the staff working with them and the fans who have to compete fiercely for tickets.

In response, WOOZI said, "Actually, when I go on variety shows, I have a certain energy to be funny, and that day my energy was really high. It's not that I don't think about the fans, so I hope there's no misunderstanding. A concert can't be held without the fans, right?"

He continued, "I made a mistake while joking around, and I thought the fans might have been upset after seeing this. I wanted to joke about the company being stingy and just wanted to criticize our company. I sincerely apologize to the fans who might have been hurt."

Meanwhile, 'We Are' is the first album released after all members of (G)I-DLE re-signed with their agency, CUBE Entertainment. Additionally, it is noteworthy as it is the first new release after changing their group name from '(G)I-DLE' to '(G)I-DLE' to mark their 7th anniversary since debut. The album will be released at 6 PM on the same day.
