The 'black cat' Miyao has returned as a 'versatile cat' filled with diverse charms.
Miyao (Soo-in, Ga-won, Anna, Na-rin, Ella) held a showcase to celebrate the release of their first EP album 'MY EYES OPEN WIDE' on the afternoon of the 12th at SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
When asked about their comeback feelings, Ga-won said, "One of our goals as a team is to show a different side of Miyao in a way that is true to us, so I am even more excited and looking forward to this activity."
In response to the same question, Anna said, "We are making a comeback with a song that we have been preparing since our trainee days. I am happy to return with a song filled with affection. Please show us a lot of love."
Miyao, who made a strong start with their debut single 'MEOVV' and the second single 'TOXIC' last year, expressed their determination to move into a deeper and broader musical world with their first EP album 'MY EYES OPEN WIDE'.
Soo-in revealed, "Through our first physical album 'MY EYES OPEN WIDE', we will showcase the diverse perspectives of Miyao. Please focus on Miyao's courageous appearance soaring high."
The title track 'DROP TOP' is a song that expressively depicts moving towards the world with one's own perspective. It starts with a calm mood and evolves into a pop song infused with rock elements, with member Ga-won participating in the lyrics to enhance its completeness.
Ga-won introduced, "This is the first song that incorporates our music since we were trainees. It is the song that has been with us the longest among Miyao's songs, and freedom is the key. It conveys the message that this moment is the most precious, and we should enjoy this moment. The precious moments for me are the times with the members, so I wrote the lyrics thinking of them."
There were also episodes from the music video shoot.
Anna said, "In this music video, there were no fixed scenes, so we filmed naturally, and I think a lot of our comfortable sides came out. Especially, there was a scene where Soo-in, Ga-won, and Ella flew in the sky with wires, and Na-rin and I cheered hard from below."
Ella also revealed, "There is a scene in the music video where I chase a butterfly, but since it was CG, the director moved his fingers like a butterfly. So, it was hard to hold back my laughter."
Miyao achieved first place on their debut music show with the pre-release single 'HANDS UP', which was released on April 28.
Na-rin expressed, "I am grateful and happy that many people liked 'HANDS UP', which we prepared with a lot of affection. It is a song that conveys the message of boldly moving forward on our own path, so it is meaningful to achieve first place, and I thank our fans."
The members, who successfully announced the start of this activity with 'HANDS UP', said they want to earn the title of 'versatile cat' through 'DROP TOP'.
Na-rin smiled and said, "When we first debuted, we had a strong image of a chic and aloof black cat, but we wanted to embody diverse charms through this EP. We want to show our versatility in various concepts, songs, and performances, and earn the title of 'versatile cat'."
Meanwhile, Miyao's first EP album 'MY EYES OPEN WIDE' will be released at 6 PM on the same day.
