Rapper Sik-K (Kwon Min-sik, 31), who confessed to the police about using drugs, has been sentenced to prison.
On the 20th, during a hearing at the Seoul Western District Court presided over by Judge Ma Sung-young, the prosecution requested a sentence of 3 years and 6 months for Sik-K on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act (marijuana) and other offenses.
The prosecution explained the reason for the sentencing request, stating, "The defendant is a well-known rapper who has a significant influence on young people."
On that day, Sik-K said, "I don't think I've ever felt as ashamed as I do now," and added, "I am truly reflecting deeply. If given the opportunity to make amends to my family and colleagues whom I have hurt, I will live my life with true remorse."
According to the prosecution, Sik-K is accused of using ketamine and ecstasy from October 1 to 9, 2023. He is also charged with smoking marijuana on January 11 of last year and possessing marijuana on January 13 of the same year.
Subsequently, on January 19 of last year, at around 8:40 AM, Sik-K approached a police officer working near the Seoul Regional Veterans Affairs Office in Yongsan, Seoul, and asked, "Is this the police station?" before confessing to drug use and undergoing police investigation. The prosecution, which received the case from the police, indicted Sik-K without detention in June of the same year.
The sentencing for Sik-K is scheduled for May 1.
