HYBE is looking for members for a next-generation boy group to debut in the U.S. To this end, music industry giants such as Bang Si-hyuk, Scooter Braun, and Ryan Tedder have come together.
According to HYBE on the 21st, Bang Si-hyuk and Scooter Braun, CEO of HYBE America, recently established a partnership with Ryan Tedder and have embarked on a new boy group production project.
As part of this project, they have started recruiting applicants through the official audition website. Those wishing to participate must submit a profile photo, a self-introduction, and a video showcasing their vocal and dance skills. The age requirement for applicants is between 13 and 23 years old.
Attention is drawn to whether Bang Si-hyuk's K-pop methodology, which has produced numerous global top artists led by the "21st-century pop icon" BTS, will be transplanted once again in the U.S. Last year, Bang Si-hyuk was recognized by Billboard as one of the "leaders who revolutionized the music industry" for leading the successful U.S. debut of Cat's Eye.
Ryan Tedder, a multi-platinum producer with four Grammy Awards, has collaborated with global musicians such as Beyoncé, Adele, and Ed Sheeran, earning recognition for his creative directing abilities. His work includes songs by HYBE Music Group artists such as Tomorrow X Together's "Back for More," ENHYPEN's "Drop Kick," and Cat's Eye's "Debut."
Scooter Braun, CEO of HYBE America, is known for managing top pop stars like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande and contributing to their growth. He also boasts an eye for discovering talented artists with star potential and a powerful network across the entertainment industry.
The collaboration between HYBE's expertise in artist discovery and training, K-pop infrastructure development, and global fandom cultivation, along with Ryan Tedder, who is regarded as a "veteran elite" in the global music market, is bound to attract significant attention.
Bang Si-hyuk stated, "HYBE Music Group artists have consistently achieved global success by dominating major charts every year. In particular, we proved that the K-pop methodology can succeed in the mainstream U.S. market through Cat's Eye. Launching a new boy group in collaboration with Ryan Tedder is a step forward in continuing our legacy in the music industry."
Ryan Tedder expressed, "I am excited to be part of this new and exciting project," adding, "We will create the most fan-centric group with the best music."
