The Golden Disc Awards has decided to replace the live broadcast ceremony with a recorded broadcast in memory of the Jeju Air passenger plane tragedy.
The Golden Disc Awards Secretariat announced on the official SNS on the 31st, "First, we express our deep condolences to the victims of the plane accident and their families," and added, "To share the grief with the nation in mourning, the live broadcast of the '39th Golden Disc Awards' scheduled for January 4th and 5th will be replaced with a recorded broadcast, and the broadcast date will be announced later."
They also stated, "The red carpet event scheduled for the same day will be canceled, and specific details regarding ticket adjustments will be provided separately through the ticket purchase channels."
The Secretariat conveyed their condolences, saying, "Once again, we pray for the souls of the victims and sincerely extend our deepest sympathies to their families."
The 39th Golden Disc Awards will be held on January 4th and 5th at 6 PM at the Mizuho PayPay Dome in Fukuoka, Japan.
