BLACKPINK surpasses SEVENTEEN and BTS... Ranked 1st in December Idol Group Brand Reputation

According to the big data analysis results of idol group brand reputation for December 2024, BLACKPINK ranked 1st, followed by SEVENTEEN in 2nd and BTS in 3rd.

The Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute extracted 102,460,339 pieces of big data on idol group brands from November 19, 2024, to December 19, 2024, for the analysis of idol group brand reputation. This is an 8.82% decrease compared to the 112,368,440 pieces of big data from November.

The brand reputation index is a metric created through brand big data analysis, which finds that consumers' online habits significantly influence brand consumption. Through the analysis of idol group brand reputation, it is possible to measure positive and negative evaluations of idol group brands, media interest, and the level of consumer interest and communication. Qualitative evaluations from the brand reputation monitor were also included.

The idol group brand reputation is analyzed by integrating the brand categories of boy groups and girl groups, measuring consumer participation index, media index, communication index, and community index to analyze the brand reputation index.

The ranking of the top 30 idol group brand reputations for December 2024 is as follows: BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, BTS, aespa, IVE, BIGBANG, Fifty Fifty, (G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM, Stray Kids, BABYMONSTER, ITZY, KISS OF LIFE, EXO, SHINee, NCT, NMIXX, Red Velvet, Oh My Girl, ENHYPEN, THE BOYZ, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, RISE, ILY:1, tripleS, TOURUS, MIYAO, TREASURE, MAMAMOO, TWICE.

BLACKPINK, which ranked 1st in idol group brand reputation, has a participation index of 477,184, media index of 1,060,459, communication index of 2,162,995, and community index of 9,324,157, resulting in a brand reputation index of 13,024,795. This is a 1.39% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 12,846,175 in November.

SEVENTEEN, which ranked 2nd, has a participation index of 362,992, media index of 504,245, communication index of 1,443,797, and community index of 3,698,653, resulting in a brand reputation index of 6,009,687. This is a 3.01% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 6,196,489 in November.

BTS, which ranked 3rd, has a participation index of 212,954, media index of 461,656, communication index of 1,318,890, and community index of 3,741,627, resulting in a brand reputation index of 5,735,127. This is a 34.30% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 8,728,901 in November.

aespa, which ranked 4th, has a participation index of 316,540, media index of 618,253, communication index of 1,125,689, and community index of 2,557,913, resulting in a brand reputation index of 4,618,394. This is a 35.53% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 7,163,180 in November.

IVE, which ranked 5th, has a participation index of 249,116, media index of 724,372, communication index of 1,602,706, and community index of 2,015,872, resulting in a brand reputation index of 4,592,066. This is a 41.82% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 7,892,369 in November.

Director Koo Chang-hwan of the Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute stated, “In the December 2024 idol group brand reputation rankings, BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa) ranked 1st. Comparing the big data of idol group brands from November, which was 112,368,440, there was an 8.82% decrease. A detailed analysis shows that brand consumption increased by 20.45%, brand issues increased by 10.06%, brand communication decreased by 5.51%, and brand spread decreased by 16.04%.”

He continued, “In the December 2024 idol group brand reputation rankings, BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa) showed high scores in link analysis for ‘recording, participating, and revealing,’ and in keyword analysis, ‘Rosé, solo, apartment’ ranked high. The positive-to-negative ratio analysis recorded a positive ratio of 92.82%.”
