The film ‘Boss’, the only comedy this Chuseok, surpassed 1 million viewers on October 7, just five days after its release.

‘Boss’ is a comic action film depicting the desperate competition among organization members who fiercely ‘yield’ the boss position to each other for their own dreams, ahead of the selection of the next boss that determines the future of the organization. It surpassed 1 million viewers on the 7th.

This is a faster box office pace than the Korean film ‘30 Days’, which attracted 1 million viewers in the shortest time after its release in October 2020 following the pandemic. Additionally, the seat occupancy rate recorded 40.4%, proving the high satisfaction of actual viewers with an overwhelming number one seat sales rate.

‘Boss’, which had been highly anticipated as the only comedy film this Chuseok and maintained the number one spot in overall reservations, attracted about 240,000 viewers on its opening day, breaking the record for the highest opening score for a Korean film released in October after the pandemic, and solidifying its dominance at the Chuseok box office with enthusiastic reviews from audiences.

The fresh concept of organization members who do not want to become the boss, along with the diverse charms of characters with distinct personalities, and the fantastic comic acting synergy of Jo Woo-jin, Jung Kyung-ho, Park Ji-hwan, and Lee Kyu-hyung have made it beloved by audiences of all ages.

‘Boss’, which is currently on a box office run after surpassing 1 million viewers, is being screened in theaters nationwide.
