The film 'Breakfast for the Heartbroken', starring actors Suzy and Lee Jin-wook, has been selected as an official invitation for the 30th Busan International Film Festival.
The film, which depicts realistic love and breakups, 'Breakfast Meeting for the Heartbroken' (hereafter referred to as 'Breakfast for the Heartbroken'), has been officially invited to the 'Competition' section of the 30th Busan International Film Festival.
The competition section showcases outstanding works among Asian films produced in a year, achieving remarkable aesthetic accomplishments. This section has been newly established this year, and about 14 films are expected to compete for awards.
The 'Breakfast for the Heartbroken', which will be presented at the world premiere screening at the Busan International Film Festival, is based on the novel of the same name by author Baek Young-ok, published in 2012. It features a fresh story where characters with their own stories gather at a breakfast meeting and exchange 'souvenirs of heartbreak' to overcome the pain of loss.

The combination of shining actors such as Suzy, Lee Jin-wook, Yoo Ji-tae, and Geum Sae-rok has already sparked interest. Suzy, who has established herself as an icon of the era beyond being the nation's first love, plays the role of flight attendant Sa-gang, who has experienced a breakup but has not yet moved on. Lee Jin-wook, a master of acting who dominates the screen with just his gaze, takes on the role of consultant Ji-hoon, who endures a collapsed daily life after ending a long-term relationship, promising to deliver a dense emotional performance.
Yoo Ji-tae, who has left a heavy presence with his limitless acting skills, and Geum Sae-rok, who showcases diverse character portrayals in every work, will also convey warm messages of comfort and empathy as 'Jung-soo' and 'Hyun-jeong', who face the end of their respective loves.
The Busan International Film Festival will be held from September 17 to 26 in the Busan area.
