‘F1 The Movie’ Takes 1st Place… Pre-booking Rate Leads by ‘Jurassic World: New Beginnings’

Brad Pitt's starring film ‘F1 The Movie’ has also secured the weekday box office.

According to the integrated computer network of the Korean Film Council, the film ‘F1 The Movie’ (directed by Joseph Kosinski) attracted 46,794 viewers the previous day, taking the top spot at the box office. The cumulative audience number is 581,684.

Released on the 25th of last month, ‘F1 The Movie’ depicts the story of veteran driver Sonny Hayes, who has not become the best, joining the lowest-ranked team and challenging races alongside a genius rookie driver. The film stars Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Damson Idris, and others.

In North America, it recorded a box office revenue of $55.6 million (approximately 75.4 billion won) in its opening week, securing the top spot. Not only in North America but also in an impressive 74 countries, it achieved a global box office revenue of $144 million (approximately 195.2 billion won).

In second place is the live-action film ‘Noise’ (directed by Kim Soo-jin). It attracted 34,323 viewers the previous day, bringing the cumulative audience number to 267,282.

‘Noise’ is a reality horror thriller where Juyoung, who is searching for her missing younger sister in an apartment complex plagued by noise from upstairs, encounters a mysterious incident. The film stars Lee Sun-bin, Kim Min-seok, Han Soo-ah, Ryu Kyung-soo, and others.

In third place is ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ (directed by Dean DeBlois). It attracted 15,290 viewers, with a cumulative audience number of 1,562,397.

‘How to Train Your Dragon’ is a live-action adaptation of the animated film of the same name released in 2010, telling the story of Hiccup (played by Mason Thames), a boy who is not recognized due to his Viking-like appearance and personality, and the legendary dragon Toothless, shrouded in mystery, who changes the world.

As of 8:15 AM today, the real-time pre-booking rate leader is the film ‘Jurassic World: New Beginnings’ (44.9%). Following it are ‘F1 The Movie’, ‘Superman’, ‘Noise’, and ‘How to Train Your Dragon’.
