The team behind ‘Undercover’ has released a preview video of Vincent Blue, the ‘blue chip of the OST industry’, to entice viewers to tune in.

Set to premiere on January 12 at 7:40 PM, ENA’s cover influencer survival show ‘Undercover’ is a survival music entertainment program that determines the strongest ‘cover’ influencer, who has established a new music trend by reinterpreting original songs.

The previously released second teaser showcased the impressive vocal performances of cover influencers, capturing the attention of potential viewers. On January 6, ‘Undercover’ released a cover video of Vincent Blue, the ‘blue chip of the OST industry’.

In the video, Vincent Blue chose to cover Um Jung-hwa’s ‘Invitation’. With a bold song choice, Vincent Blue captivated ‘TOP Listener’ Jung Jae-hyung from the very first note. The participants also seemed to momentarily forget the competition, exclaiming, “He’s really good,” while Jung Jae-hyung couldn’t hide his smile, raising curiosity about Vincent Blue’s live performance in the main broadcast.

Regarding this, the ‘Undercover’ production team explained, “We are now in an era where we listen to our favorite songs in the voice of ‘cover artists’ rather than the original singers. We thought that by showcasing ‘SNS cover influencers’ on the show, many music fans could enjoy and appreciate songs that align with new trends, which is why we planned this audition.”

They continued, “We used the desire to re-click on applicants’ cover videos and the wish to follow their SNS accounts as the primary selection criteria. After several rounds of face-to-face evaluations, we focused on whether they could appeal their musicality and unique charm outside the platform as a key point in the recruitment process,” emphasizing their careful selection of participants and raising expectations for the main broadcast.

Additionally, the lineup of ‘TOP Listeners’ including Jung Jae-hyung, Park Jung-hyun, Lee Seok-hoon, Kwon Eun-bi, and GroovyRoom, covering various genres, has also garnered attention. The ‘Undercover’ production team stated, “We decided to call them ‘TOP Listeners’ instead of judges to represent the listeners. We wanted to invite individuals who have different perspectives on music while working in various genres and fields. We recruited those who could add fairness to the competition process with their expertise and help discover the musicality and charm of the participants.”

In particular, the production team recalled the first recording of ‘Undercover’, saying, “The solemnity and tension of the survival show lingered in the air. Yet, both the ‘TOP Listeners’ and the competing cover influencers enjoyed the cover performances that exceeded expectations,” stimulating interest in the main broadcast.

Meanwhile, the fierce competition among cover influencers to turn ‘someone else’s’ song into ‘their own’ will unfold in ENA’s ‘Undercover’, premiering on January 12 at 7:40 PM.
